Enjoyed this video of you stitching in hand. I am also stitching in-hand on a iStitch 2022 band, 1-over-1. I found that it is easier and agree that picking up you stitching is much quicker to resume stitching. However, I still do some projects with frames of various kinds depending on the project. "Stitchin Mommy" is great to watch.

Thanks Colleen! I agree that some projects would lend itself to being more convenient in a frame. She is wonderful to learn from.

Beautiful work. The method you are using now is how I learned to cross stitch. I have never tried the other way. I admire the dedication you have to your project.

I enjoyed seeing you stitch in hand. I’ve always loved the sewing method and someday possibly I will try.
I too bought those ballpoint needles. The only time I use them is to start a thread when the stitch is between two other stitches and I have a tiny space to squeeze it in. It helps me to find the right hole and not split my other threads already in the holes. Then after I’ve done that stitch I quickly change to a regular needle. I’m like you I didn’t enjoy that extra notch when I’m used to smoothness in and out of holes.
I do look forward to more of your stitching because I’ve missed your videos but I understand how you were feeling about your stitching and pain. Take care!

That's a good idea to use those needles for those specific stitches when it's a crowded space.
I'm starting a new stitch because it's my birthday month and I'm super excited to start and plan to get more stitching and recording done this month.

I stitch in hand and have always prefered it ❤ i hate having a hoop confining me to one area, i like to work on one side of the fabric when i have large sections, and its so much easier to travel with. Some sections can be tricky to have enough fabric to hang on to but i still dont find myself reaching for a hoop or frame to do them

I love these works and I'd like to learn to do them. I've started some years ago but then I haven't had time

I understand and hope you do get time to pick it up again!

I stitch exactly the same way. Only started to use a QSnap or hoop for floppy fabric where I have problems with too much tension. Stitching in hand is so portable, I can stitch comfortably on my couch and hold the fabric right in front my face. Poor eyesight 😉

I love meeting another stitcher like me! When I stitch on higher count linen it's right up by my face!

I am trying to stitch by hand a Haed pattern. Can you please tell me which yellow clips your are usimg. Love the way you stitch

Thank you! The yellow ties are the SMART&COOL Reusable Silicone Magnetic Cable from Amazon. They're the 7-inch ones. (I might have them linked in the video as magnetic ties.) Sometimes if I'm trying to hold a big bundle of fabric I stack a couple of them together to get them to hold tightly.

How do you find your left thumb? When I stitched in hand I get strain on my left thumb. How do you combat this?
    Love your videos

So far my left thumb is okay. Is it maybe that you're gripping it tight? I found that adding the magnet holders to keep my fabric wrapped up means I don't have to grasp too tightly.

My wrist gets very sore afterwards stiching in hand

I'm so sorry to hear that. You definitely want to take care of your joints and wrists and make sure you're not hurting yourself. Frames and especially the big floor frames I'm sure are great help so you don't have to hold your stitching.
