Apreciate the demo video. I subbed cuz I was looking up welder videos and found a no prep channel!
I watch a lot of SRC, Turbo John and John Doc!
Looking good.
@boostinwillie I just did some on my headers lastnight. Had to put a differant V band on them.
@@boostinwillie I have to weld the other side of the V- band to the pips and put the extensions for the waist gates and the hot side is done.
Your gaps are WAY too big! You need to be butted right up to the other piece. Use a bigger cup, at least a 10, and purge or use Solar flux on the flange, too. It's not PSI for flow, it's CFH. ;) Keep practicing, but give yourself a better chance and do the basics correctly. If you have the fit better, you can even do an autogenous weld and not need filler. Bigger cup, tighter fit, and move faster. Heat hurts the weld and can make it more brittle, with stainless. With a good back purge, or solar flux, you shouldn't really have anything on the inside.
Yeah, those gaps was closer, forgot I needed to be careful on tacking it. It pulled open. So then was the time to practice gap filling. Those were small compared to the gaps on the turbo flange. It was supposed be a 2.5 OD flange, it definitely was not. Cup size is a 9, been looking for a 10 to fit my gun. Let’s hope it all holds. 💪🏾 appreciate the advice too.
Willie, stainless wire wheel can burn contaminants into your tubing. Better by hand then acetone 😆
Using 110v? What amp breaker? Also where did you get the bottle and gas at?
110v regular outlet so whatever breaker it’s on. Probably 20amp. I get my gas from Airgas
Who taught you to weld??
@@funfun8095 th-cam.com/video/5eGW0Nzm4LU/w-d-xo.html, few years back. Got a quick rundown.
Thanks for the video. That's the TIG welder that I want to get and I now see it does a fine job. Thanks again!
Yes sir it works really well!!
