  • No, it's not the end of Motion, at least not just yet! It's a fun, fresh graphical countdown tutorial that I think you're going to like. There's a very useful bit of technical trickery as we set up a Null object to create the key animation component.
    (Generators. replicators, filters, animation, keyframes, null, compositing)

    Also to say, after watching, I do not know how many of your videos (>50) when I saw your Superglow plugin, I knew it would be excellent given the quality of all the work you do here on YT. I downloaded the trial and watched the tutorial... I must say your superglow plug in is very impressive. So I bought it for an editing project as I have to backlight silicone buttons etc in motion and wow, the ways you can tweak and adjust it for pretty much any situation. I got a look I am very happy with. I highly recommend it!

      Thank you. I am so pleased you are finding it useful - I was very happy with the way it turned out and how much it offers but I can't take much of the credit which rightfully goes to the brilliant Rob Mackintosh at Hawaiki.

    This is really very good. The null object approach. I really like the look of those lines at the end. Thanks again. I dont know if you were going for a bit of BBC news 24 but the music pulsing sure felt it.

      I'm afraid I'm not any sort of expert on how to improve Mac performance. I wish I could help but I'm definitely not the person you want to be asking.

    Simon, you have increased the quality (if possible) and frequency of your Motion tutorials. I greatly appreciate your efforts. Following on from inspiration you gave me with one you did a few years ago (a grungy alleyway), I am now building an art gallery in Motion. It's great fun. Many thanks.

    I don’t know if you would get a lot of backlash from Motion5 developers. Being a photographer. I have used my images for motion 5 multimedia presentations. I founded out a few things making my images too high res & jittery. Then my images would look soft & not that sharp. I founded the Motion5 used clones of an image wall. So it wouldn’t hav this effect of soft images, etc. If you could produce a tutorial on how to make a clone of an image wall to eliminate these issues?

    • @SimonUbsdell
      @SimonUbsdell  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Is it a video wall for stills (since you say you are a photographer) or a video wall for moving video?

    This is all cool, but I think it's much easier to use the "face camera" option in the replicator itself, instead of this circle and the null object as reference for motion. Then you can simply rotate the replicator itself around the Y axis and get the same effect.

    • @SimonUbsdell
      @SimonUbsdell  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I wanted a chance to discuss the null object option, which is something that many users (especially those used to After Effects) are keen to know about. There is usually a more or less reasonable reason why I make the choices that I make.

    why when i set rotation of the circle -90 i get as resoult a white line in the middle of the screen

    • @SimonUbsdell
      @SimonUbsdell  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, that is perfectly fine. It doesn't matter. The circle is not meant to be seen and you will switch off its visibility.

    LOL! can't please anyone else so please yourself with the frame rate. YES! Naming the font - appreciated. Dummy object and linking to it... very practical....
    You set the fixed resolution to 1080 x 1080 and not the fullscreen for the membrane group. May I ask the logic behind that? Was that simply to fit the layer to the number better? Or was it also for render and playback? And /or? If it is too tedious to respond no worries. Great video.Thank you!

    • @SimonUbsdell
      @SimonUbsdell  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! Both your answers to the question are correct. It was arguably not necessary but it was a precaution against breaking anything later and it always pays to limit the number of pixels you are playing with at any one time. I consider the latter point to be good practice generally - and when you are working with vast compositing projects with huge file sizes it becomes exceedingly important. So I think it's a good mindset to get into.
