The two of you are doing a great job reviewing some brilliant music. Shambala has been a long time favorite because of its spiritual vibe. I like the comment from Kirti about pilgrimages. Unfortunately, spiritual quests that require travel are far less frequent today than when this song was made. TH-cam, and other video platforms, are great at sharing experiences and, hopefully, they encourage people to take their own spiritual journeys. Keep up the good work!
It seems like the region of Shambala is mythically around Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet. For a interesting interpretation check out the film Sky Captain and The World Of Tomorrow. At the end they go to Shambala, but you need to see how. A fun, family night movie. Good ol' Three Dog Night.
