Why is bedtime always so difficult?

Bedtime is the hardest part of my day with two children. They fall asleep at different times. They have different needs and wants. The baby is crying to get to sleep while the toddler is crying to stay awake. I find myself stuff in the middle trying to regulate my emotions the whole time. I am not a single mom but I do live alone and these nights are rough most of the time. I have focuses on some tools and strategies I have learned over the years to help and make things more manageable.
