It is already leaked that the base model gets a 90+ kWh battery - so a big plus compared to the predecessor. The big battery stays the same though with just a reduced buffer to free up a very small bump in usable capacity.

They can‘t on this platform. It is 400V so they are already working on the top end of the spectrum. Higher charging speeds on BMWs will come with the 800V Neue Klasse platform.
The comments about the suspension seem wrong since the electronic dampers are not (to my knowledge) offered without the optional air suspension. Cars without air suspension have plain old lift related dampers that have no ability adjust to the driving modes. So unless the facelift IX now offers EDC without optioning air suspension this article is factually incorrect. I hate the Headrest style BMW has evolved to to! That said, I must say, the best Headrest design BMW ever had was that of BMWs from the '80s,...yeah, 1980-1988 vehicles! All BMWs had the same headrest design,...a signature look for real! Seeing the interior of that thing,...Note to BMW,...don't allow an iX to leave the factory without a Sunroof/Moonroof, etc.
`Does the iX share its platform with any other model? I mean all the other electric cars from BMW have hybrid platforms that they share with the ICE counterparts, right? Or is this platform the "prototype" for the upcoming "neue Klasse" electric platform?
@@component9008 It gets the cabin hot on warmer days and colder in winter months. Extra load on the a/c and thus range takes a hit. I personally hate the glassroofs with no physical shade.

They have the different insert at the top that's more recessed just like in your video and the seat base is longer just like in your video, but mine don't have the high wingbacks on the seat back. Not the same seats as in your video, but not the launch seats either. Unfortunately, I can't post a picture in the comments!

And for at least 9 out of 10 EV owners I know, it doesn't matter. Longer range and faster charging is of course nice, but in day to day us - we don't care 👍

Absolutely! I hate frameless glass doors after my experience, a while back, with my Toyota Celica. They never worked consistently and always leaked both air and water, with frequently poor sealing - yeah this was old tech when the glass windows were manually operated. I'll not have them again. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, this rules out many of these new cars for me!

No. Its own platform. Not a prototype for Neue Klasse either
