I love your lessons! You are the most fantastic guitar teacher who has ever lived. Your name will go down in history as the greatest guitar instructor of all time!
@@LaurenBateman There was an article in Guitar Player the other day, Lauren. It's from their vault and written by some cat named Art Thompson. Prince talks about "rhythm" and how players need to spend more time w/ it. 🎸
Audioslave Like A Stone. I learned it and used the feeling. That's what songs are for. I cant play it today but could re learn it in ten minutes. Taught me dexterity and moving to new chords.
Interesting about Clapton playing on it. I have an old Beatles Complete music book and I think this is the only song that's not in the book. I always thought it was strange since it was so popular. Great tutorial. Thanks for sharing this.
I just came across your instruction on this song. I like your arpeggios in the song. --- I first heard this song in 1968 from the White Album. It was so hauntingly beautiful. Thanks for covering this.
They say it’s not how you play but what you play that will attract many people. One suggestion: When doing a song I wonder if you could play the full song first then break it down for us.
Afternoon Lauren and everyone- do you happen to have a video for left hand playing- just got a group kids starting guitar, happen to have 2 lefties,lol- I'm flipping over my guitar- I know eventually I'll need to have it coverted to left hand- dose that cost a lot, or should I by a left handed guitar- anyone can respond, thanks!
Thanks LB! Great song. When Prince finished the solo and threw that guitar up in the air and walked off, did anyone catch it? I think the second half of the verse goes from C (versus D) to E?

I teach left-handed students all the time. I play as a righty and they play as a lefty.
Siouxsie and the Banshees, Happy House I dare you to do beginner version x
Go Lauren ❤
Thanks for watching!
Great lesson on a fantastic song! However, all of those barre chords are my worst nightmare. 😱
Any chance you'd be able to play the very first part of the song (the piano part)?
For this lesson I kept it simpler, if I do a more intermediate version, I can show you the exact pattern.
You did a great job with this song. I would justlike to do the beginning piano part. Thanks Lauren.
The Prince version was incredible. Clapton wasn't there.
Thanks for watching!
C’est compliqué pour moi !!
Yea, not a beginner song by any means Wouter.
So that helps explain Jim Croce arpeggios
Yeah, in a way it does!
I can't play Am/G my fingers are too short. I can play bar cords either.
You got this!
I loved all versions but Steve Lukather of Toto is the best !
Thanks for sharing!
My God so many remarks, you did a very good job !!

Ha ha. No, I will have to go back to watch.
Still refusing to do the piano intro to this song on the guitar? Come on!
So many chords, so little time
Take your time.

Great lesson, as usual, Lauren! Because of my last name, by default I'm a Beatles fan! Cheers! :)
