Its just the food in general, everything tastes delicious in Japan, even if you eat on a cheap at a kombini store. Food culture in Japan is just mind blowing and I love it!
i remember in MasterChef shows, judges always say that cheese and seafood doesn't go together. Well hey, it really does work. Here in the Philippines we bake almost every seafood with cheese.
When you eat sushi, flip the nigiri on its side, one chopstick on the fish, other on the underside rice side. Much easier to hold. Dip the fish side in soy sauce, not the rice side. Rice can fall apart in the soy dish. I learned when eating with a colleague from Japan.
I eat it with chopsticks although I do it rice side down because I love to drink the leftovers, no disrespect or offense at all intended , it's just how I personally enjoy it.
I bet when these all u can eat places see Mike Chen walk in they are like oh no, that's Mike Chen and he is going to eat $600 worth of food for $49.95, lol.
I be saying that as well like somebody has to have seen this dude before and know it’s him when he walks in he literally has two channels with multi million subs
Hi, Mike welcome to Japan. Let me say this for those who are confused. I think that the lobster's claws are wrapped in durable Japanese paper, not rubber. 🦐 There is no Japanese chaf who bakes rubber on an iron plate that reabhes 200 degree. if you think about it a little, you will understand. 😂🔥Im looking forward to Mike's continued video upload. 🇯🇵
@@Roheryn100 I'm not a chef so I can't give you an exact answer. However, I've eaten Teppanyaki seafood many times, so I know that the lobster claw is wrapped in sturdy paper, not rubber. Japanese paper called Washi has a trousand years of history, and Japan is a culture of paper, as seen in Origami and Shoji door culture. The paper still wrapped around the lobster's claws is probably to trap the meat juices in inside.🦐🔥I just wanted to say that is inconceivable that professional japanese chefs, who are used to handling seafood, would grill rubber on their most important cooking utensil, the iron plate. . If you come to Japan and try Teppanyaki, it's very delicious!!(*´∀`)And sorry if my poor English is hard to understand.
Mikey, you have the best appetite. It’s like never ending. However, considering all the great restaurants you dine in, it’s inevitable lol.💯❤️👍🏾🙋🏽♀️✝️🙏🏾🇺🇸🎅🏾🎄

WAIT, WAIT WAIT! He actually cooked those lobster claws WITH the rubber bands on them? (I'll continue the video to see what the heck happens....LOL!) 😁
Watched a lobster bought still alive at a seafood store...released at home 🏡 in a tank...had the bands cut ✂️ so it was free...but nerve and muscle damage meant main front claws were frozen shut for a bit... Brilliant watching 👀 them come free👏
@@wugmuppet You're right, your comment really is ignorant! The claws HAVE those blue rubber bands it's NOT paper, they use those to secure the claws from snapping when they are carried by the chef/cook preparation but you take them off after the lobster is dead (hate it when they try to be a smartie pants)

I certainly learned that when I was there several years ago. As a friend of mine puts it, the Japanese include an important factor; food!
Oh I couldn't agree more!!
Been waiting for more Japan food videos to come out and finally! Thanks for it and enjoy your stay in Japan to the fullest~
日本に来てくれてありがとうございます。また来てください待ってます
Been watching your videos for years, finally went to the buffet yesterday. It was amazing! The scallops absolutely did not disappoint!

So why is there even a "paper" band (which I dispute) on a dismembered claw ? Take it off !!

It that blue band on the grilled lobster claws a rubber band?
Not taking those rubber bands off of the lobster claws makes that chef a 5 of 10 in my book.

Prices are amazing
The big question: Mike, did you eat that broccoli?
The prawns were sleeping with the enemy
