Thanks again PiG, I’ve always used Vibes B2GM content to help me improve, since adding in your input and knowledge on top of that through this series my skill has improved greatly. Always been teetering on the edge of P1-D3 and I’m currently making my way to D1, thanks my dude!!
This for days. Both this and vibes series are recommended reading for anyone getting into Starcraft ladder play. Really complementary and show two different approaches to the game.
@@matthewheadland7307 They aren't really two different approaches. Pig's method is just more comprehensive and organized. Vibe tends to ramble and get off track but the basis of both methods is to focus on macro over micro. Honestly, both are very far removed from what it is actually like to be in lower leagues, although I think Vibe is much closer in this regard than Pig. It's hard to make a one size fits all series like this. The attempt is great and I'm sure some people do well with it but I would highly recommend new players to prioritize Vibe and Pig's other great educational content over this, outside of maybe the first couple videos of each because they rehash a lot of content they've already covered like basic hotkeys and mechanics. To improve much faster and more reliably, personal coaching is also highly recommended if the price is affordable once you hit your first plateau. I haven't experienced Vibe's coaching but I'm sure he's comparable to Pig and I never improved as fast on my own as I did getting coaching from Pig. Just the organization and structure that you get from Pig's coaching alone makes it more than worth the price tag if you have the disposable income to afford it. If you are highly organized yourself, it's even more worth it because you can take one coaching session to learn what he prioritizes and how he organizes, then just replicate it. You can probably take one session in low diamond and keep getting value out of it all the way to master league.
This is great. I’m not even Terran. You inspire me to off race Terran with this series. For now, I’m enjoying understanding Terran better so I can enjoy my zvt games.
Wow... Thanks for getting me back into my favorite game! Literally hadn't played ladder since WoL was new lol... Life happened and got out of gaming, pandemic got me back in lol, but i basically just replayed the campaigns, was terrified to hit that ladder button when i knew so much would be different. Saw these and thought what the hell i did always like Terran bio, why not get down a build order and try and have a little fun... And wow did this help with so much more of my game... couple weeks in, gold2 right now, and just beat a Plat player who accused me of smurfing LMFAO... Thanks again! P.S. I had always had supply block problems.. but Bruce and Gary will forever help(haunt?) me with that from now on :)
Really appreciate the links to the games with the match up listed. I'm trying to jump to the TvT's to understand the stim timing of this build. With the normal raven openers you swap the starport and barracks when you're done making ravens to start stim. The b2gm document says build a naked viking and 8 marines before the swap but it looks like we’re mainly taking tech labs on the 2nd and 3rd rax and the starport is building it’s own reactor.
god that very last game against the chad zerg is exactly the type of player that is soooo frustrating to play against and after losing to him Id be done with Starcraft for the day. I swear Diamond1-Masters 3 has these exact kind of Zergs, you did not get stream sniped. It really feels like Zerg can do anything. Im 4k elo player its so hard to keep macro going as you did while under pressure like that. And if you mismacro at all you will miss your counter push timing and they get all the way to ultra/bane/lurker with 100 workers.
As I watch your videos I couldn't help but try to listen to to relaxing background music ... the guitar chill music... relaxing... what's the name of the music?
That game 6 is pretty much how I always play vs zerg and lose!!!! Either that or roach ravager!!! If I defend those, then I lose to broodlord corrupters! Sheeeesh
Started this recently and got placed in platinum as an old timer bw player. Doing my best to not worry about winning and just focus on relearning habits. While a lot of games I lose I do see I just had gaps in scv production, and occasionally my opponent is just not macroing and I crush him, so many games feel like game 4 here where when I move out I'm almost guaranteed to get my army crushed. I dunno if the competition has gotten better lately or what but it's really rough out there lmao. People are playing macro games and making excellent hive transitions and very patiently picking fights. It's actually pretty frustrating for me because this series went from 0-100 in platinum when you threw the mech build at us and meanwhile that's where I got placed to begin with, but there are particular things I work on each day and try to let the losses roll off me. Well, I was streaming and I had a lot of people making comments how they basically "just macroed" and soared beyond diamond but from plat onward in this there's clearly a lot more than following a build and macroing. So that's where some of the frustration comes from cause it's hard not to think about mmr, so I'm gonna stop streaming my journey at least until I get past this plateau. I've been at the same mmr for several weeks playing 10-20 games a day Well, seeing this guy playing this hard in game 4 felt good at least so that's why I commented. I feel like this is how more than half my games look at my mmr lol. But I'm still missing macro rotations and just starting to get these builds down. I'll overcome it soon but for now I'm too grumpy to stream it
heck yeah love hearing this, slow and steady does it! Just enjoy those small incremental improvements and finding your flow in the chaos and you can really enter flow state as you ladder a lot more. GL HF!
19:55 I had widowmines all through my base and the Zerg just kept massing muta and flying in. My mines wouldn’t finish the muta off so theyed destroy a ton of shit
Put your widow mines in a clump of 4 so they can 1 shot a giant pack of mutas. Big investment but high chance of paying off vs a highly aggressive zerg. A lot of terran will leave a thor in their main with the turrets/mines as its long range and splash can really punish the mutas. Of course if they got MASS Muta up, you really need to escalate that antiair defence. Get a LOT of turrets and get building armour and hi-sec auto tracking. Remember that just 1-2 widow mine splashes can soften up the mutas a LOT making the whole pack much weaker to your other anti-air. When in a pinch just send 2 medivacs and 16 marines to guard your main base
@@PiGCoaching thank you for the big reply! I’ll remember the 4 widow mine rule. I was using two and they would live and then really screw up my main after that. I probably didn’t respect it enough and skimped on the turrets and it cost me
Really great content. Improved from bronze to platinum :) It seems i cant get above 100 apm tho :( seems i have to get in some more practice (playing SC for 4 weeks now)
@@PiGCoaching Thx for the answer :) I want to use this chance to give you some feedback for your B2GM series from a new player POV: Good: - great attitude from you - really nice concept to go from an easy build and than change and tweak it. (I played vs. a friend of mine (Masters Zerg) like a lot of games and he beat me 90%+ of the time. But i was able to switch my build around (like you did in your games) and do different things so i could improve from getting destoyed before 10 mins. to make it to 20 min+ games). At that point i think i lose to me beeing not able to macro good enough/react to different units beeing thrown at me. - overall you talking through the games helps a lot (especially you making "mistakes" on purpose and than show how to recover!) - Showing the basics in the 1st video (like keybinds/settings etc.) was super helpful! Improvements/Ideas from my POV: - A video of how to best practice a build would be nice (like showing tools that display build orders / video analysis of ones own replays etc.) This kind of feels time consuming for me at the moment. But maybe its just me. Getting confused with switching buildings around / what addons to get for my buildings / sometimes forget to build depos :( Are there custom maps where you can "type in" some sort of build order and it resets everytime you do a mistake? Something like that would be so helpful! - At some points in the video you react absolutly super fast (i dont see how i could get that fast!) Its not only super fancy stuff, but you are faster in placing vespin gas etc. Is there a secret? might my mouse sense be to slow? Is there a basic rule for how fast/slow it should be? (Coming from beeing quite competetive at Counter Strike, i would tell my new friends that swiping the whole mousepad (or better said the part that they really use) should be a 180 degree turn. Something above or below would be fine too of course) - Make a "know your enemy" series. In different games like WoW e.g. there are guides on how to beat certain classes with your own. How the enemy works - with a deep focus on only knowing whats relevant for you - I dont want to learn e.g. how Zerg works perfectly (maybe when i feel i know terran I want to learn other races) but if i could get to know the important parts about them in a like 30 min video, and how to change my strategy tepending on some stuff. This could include a "what unit counters what" section etc. Maybe "What important timings Zerg have", when to expect air units / When to scout and what to scout etc. - I know this is maybe very basic, but i didnt knew all units in the game when i started watching your videos (to this day i havent build a single Ghost in a game) I havent done most of the updates except 3/3 and Barraks Bio updates. Maybe it would be cool to have a video that talks through the units of a race and what you think/know about them. Friends and foes (like what army comps they fit in, what they beat and whats beating them) Thanks for your videos :)
@Simon Desrosiers I like the way he does his content and it would be great to get it all from one source :) - but I agree with you. I guess all kind of content allready exists for starcraft since its a kind of "old" game. I feel just the quality we get here is higher then the usual.
these videos are equal its weight in gold. Been playing sc2 since it fisrt came out + play BW, and stuck at diamond 3/2. Learn more from ur B2GM videos compare to a decade+ of self learning. Just the spreading out units during attack made me won more battles than before (about double as much).
where do you find these opponets, when ever I watch these bronze2gm the opponets always seem like, a whole league below, like what terran has no raven or tank by 4 minutes
Sometimes the problem is that I'm quite winning vs Zerg (about 150 vs 100), destroyed his 1-2 hatches and then suddenly 9 ultras pop up. Should I start adding more marauders way ahead blindly?
2:10:46 Hey don't laugh at that salty Terran player. He's playing the long game. If enough Terrans keep whining, the other races will keep getting nerfed. It's a genius strategy really.

I got really confused in game #2 when he had storm and colussus and you didn't die :D. I gotta try these pre splits
Right?! I’ve walked in with a waayyyy bigger army vs toss and died immediately because they have like 6 storms saved up
