    I hear ya on the not planning ahead, I have to just create as I am going, if I plan I seem to get more disappointed and frustrated, so all my pieces are 100% one of a kind cuz I really don't think I could recreate them even if I tried. But I think that makes them more fun and interesting. I love ur work! U r a very talented lady.

    I'm very, very new to polymer claying but I'm really enjoying it so far. I'm planning on making my neice and nephew a faerie door each for Xmas. This tutorial, like your other vids, has helped me tremendously.

    Your tutorial is absolutely spot on. I watched it probably 20 times before I got the nerve to make my own for my girl. It turned out epic. ♥️♥️
    I ended up making a cardboard template for the basic door, so I can do more in the future

    sooooo beautiful!! I love this!
    I am more or less a beginner. I haven't used poly for 6-7 years. Unfortunately I went crazy buying clay at the time and have loads and loads of it and it's all solid!! (apart from a gold Fimo weirdly)
    I've got vaseline and baby oil so I can try and condition it. other wise it's about £150 down the drain )-:
    (I have a bad habit of finding something I like and then going mad buying things for it!)
    I'm getting new stuff together slowly and I'm not going mad buying clay this time lol. so this is going to be one of the first things I do. wish me luck. Sorry for the essay lol xxx

      Hi and good luck! I think there is some kind of clay softener you can buy... Or stick it (wrapped) in your bra, to warm it up. My friendGinger gives good advice on The Blue Bottle Tree website, so check that out! xx

      I know you must be busy so I really appreciate it.
      I've read a lot of thebluebottletree and I've bought some of the pdfs too.
      I'd love to send you a pic of my fairy Door once it's done but I've not a clue how to lol.
      I hope you've had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you all happiness for the new year.
      hopefully I will get to chat to you again xx

    I absolutely love your work, and enjoy your tips and tricks. Can I ask you where you got your white glass tray?

    • @UnrulyHousewife
      @UnrulyHousewife  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you mean the white thing I work on? It's a ceramic tile, such as you'd put on a bathroom wall. I found a couple in our shed but you might be able to pick some up cheaply at a hardware or DIY shop. They are brilliant, because they can go straight in the oven. xx

    Hi Valerie having issues with sticking I guess is what the problem I'm having. I had seen on a tutorial I don't remember where but the lady used cornstarch lightly rubbing it gently on the clay and which seemed to work with removing fingerprints. However when I go to stick a leaf or tendril on the clay it doesn't stick. So how do you get fingerprints off without using cornstarch? Or how do you get things to stick if you do use cornstarch? Would it still be okay to use the liquid Fimo like you use on top of the cornstarch? I am taking very small baby steps into the world of clay. So I'm going to probably ask silly questions. Thank you for any help!

    • @UnrulyHousewife
      @UnrulyHousewife  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have never used cornstarch. Raw to raw clay will stick but as you found out, cornstarch gets in the way (I haven't tried but I believe you). Raw clay to baked you need liquid clay generally (that's what I use) and I guess it might overcome the cornstarch but the best thing to do is experiment. If you are not putting surface treatments on your clay (mica powder, or paint etc.) maybe you could lightly sand any unwanted marks away, after baking? Wet and dry sandpaper, used wet to keep dust at bay, of about 400 grit and up works for me. xx

    I think this is really cute, and I would love to know where you got the blank Journal as I have never seen one like it before, so if you don't mind letting me know. Please tell me where you bought the Journal as I have a design that I want to put on a Journal, but yours is the nicest on I have seen, so I can use my design without having to cover the entire thing as all the Journals I have come accross are so ugly you have to cover the whole thing to hide the ugly Journal, but if I could get some like the one you used I wouldn't have to cover the entire thing. Thanks for letting me know where to buy the Journal?

    Would you use that glue to stick it on mugs or glass? Would you say this glue is as good as an epoxy one? Where do you buy it? I am in Uk. Thanks

    Cat hair is a problem for my crafts -- 5 cats who love to sit near my work, if not in my lap. What do you do? I'm comfortable thinking to myself that cat hair on my clothes is a high-fashion "look," but I don't think cat hair on polymer clay can be promoted as desirable and chic.
