    All my coaches are Brazilian with thick accents. It was probably what convinced me to join this particular group. Love it!

    I had similar experience in Brasil and my first time there was in 2015 as well. Since that time I try to go every Year. I love the different people, climates and the food. This country has everything you need.

    Great vid man, have you got any suggestions for complete beginners wanting to do a months training in Brazil? At the moment in the UK its impossible to get any introductory sessions in so I’d be going completely blind

    • @havenbjj
      @havenbjj  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I would definitely go to one of the bigger gyms, most have special introductory coures for beginners.

    Cool. But you can only find the true açaí in Belém. Which is the ground zero of brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The way people “eat” açaí around the country/world is a result of several modifications of it. Besides that you can find a JJ Academy/team in every imaginable corner of the city. You should try sometime.

    • @havenbjj
      @havenbjj  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @havenbjj
      @havenbjj  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure how it works for Nepal. I didn't need a visa coming from the Netherlands. I'd definitely do good research on this!

    Netjes man! Goed bezig. Ik ben ook verslaafd aan BJJ haha. Train in Amsterdam. Wie weet kunnen we samen trainen in Brazilie, mocht ik keertje langskomen.

    • @havenbjj
      @havenbjj  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Walid! Ik zit momenteel gewoon in Rotterdam dus zodra de corona gekte voorbij is ben je ook welkom om daar met me te komen trainen ;)

    • @walid3207
      @walid3207 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daniel de Groot thanks voor je uitnodiging. Gaan we zeker doen. Heb nog een vraagje: ik train alleen nu met gi, raad je mij ook aan om met no gi te trainen? En zo ja, is 1x per week genoeg? Bij mijn huidige gym doen we alleen met gi.

    • @havenbjj
      @havenbjj  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@walid3207 Hoe meer je traint hoe beter. Ik train zelf normaal gesproken 4x gi, 4x nogi per week. Als je allebei traint kun je ook in allebei wedstrijden doen en sneller vooruitgaan. Zal er binnenkort een video over maken ;)

    Will a vegan have a hard time eating in Brasil (cost-wise)? I don't need any fancy almond milk or tempeh but will it be expensive to eat mainly grains, legumes, veggies and fruit?
    PS. Love the videos :)

    • @havenbjj
      @havenbjj  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Grains, legumes, veggies and fruit are very cheap in Brazil. If you have a kitchen you'll be fine. There are also slowly opening more restaurants with vegan options.

    I wish everybody would know the truth it's really Japanese you didn't see there's a guy from Japan went over there and beat the hell out of horse Gracie's grandfather and then horse races grandfather copied every move from him and called it Brazilian jiu jitsu if you want to learn real jujitsu go to Japan

      vaguely right but in general wrong. He only really took the ground techniques which he changed and modified to be more effective. I have trained Japanese jiu jitsu for 14 years so I do have a bias towards JJJ but you gotta get the facts right
