Hello Soul Reacts ! Nightwish fan here, your musical quest summoned me. Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band, performing here in 2005, at Helsinki, Finland, then together with Tarja Turunen, the 1st female singer of the band, and Marco Hietala, bassist and singer. This was also Tarja's last concert with the band - bitter sweet memories.. About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [The 1st Bassist of the band was Sami Vanska, he was with them until 2001. The 2nd one was Marco Hietala, as Bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least - we'll see what the future brings to us. Then very recently (May 2021) Jukka Koskinen became the 3nd Bassist of the band, for at least the Human :II: Nature tour] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals) - you just heard her.. She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps. I want to welcome you to the Nightwish community. I hope you like them enough to continue the journey. Believe me Nightwish will surprise you with their songs. You will never know what to expect. They are unbelievable live. I want to warn you that Nightwish fans are hard core. So be prepared. lol " Hoping you'll continue this journey with us, I'll drop here a list of songs (with links) with the current lineup of the band you may like (please consider this list of links only as "a tip of the iceberg", an indication that they have a vast and very diverse repertoire, and not as something mandatory): "Ghost Love Score" live at Wacken 2013 (epic score) th-cam.com/video/JYjIlHWBAVo/w-d-xo.html "Romanticide" live at Wacken 2013 (metal) th-cam.com/video/zz_7OCCQlXs/w-d-xo.html "Ever Dream" live at Wacken 2013 (uplifting vocals) th-cam.com/video/1Xi4n8dJcF8/w-d-xo.html "Storytime" live at Wacken 2013 (uplifting vocals) th-cam.com/video/pvkYwOJZONU/w-d-xo.html "Song Of Myself" live at Wacken 2013 (dark/metal) th-cam.com/video/lQu5QjidHWg/w-d-xo.html "Dead Boy's Poem" - live Buenos Aires 2018 (soulful ballad) th-cam.com/video/S8E3L7ggLMM/w-d-xo.html "Ghost River" live at Wacken 2013 (metal) th-cam.com/video/05eitd-EA6I/w-d-xo.html "Dark Chest Of Wonders" live at Wacken 2013 (metal, the greatest show opener ever) th-cam.com/video/OvOD6xecph4/w-d-xo.html "My Walden" live at Wembley 2015 (celtic / folk) th-cam.com/video/knqeI807ZlY/w-d-xo.html "Sleeping Sun" live at Vizovice Masters of Rock festival 2016 (ballad) th-cam.com/video/pVPTUEW1PEM/w-d-xo.html "The Islander" live at Tampere 2015 (Marco in charge..) th-cam.com/video/Zo8ncK_5kzc/w-d-xo.html "Stargazer" live at Tampere 2015 (operatic vocals / metal) th-cam.com/video/NhEuAPYm_Ug/w-d-xo.html "Alpenglow" live at Wembley 2015 (uplifting / metal) th-cam.com/video/FrJvKZNEh7g/w-d-xo.html "Sahara" live at Tampa 2016 (middle eastern vibe) th-cam.com/video/lTvYfLa4Wlk/w-d-xo.html "Slaying The Dreamer" live at Buenos Aires 2018 (metal) th-cam.com/video/wA44tjaP5n0/w-d-xo.html "I Want My Tears Back" live at Buenos Aires 2018 (celtic / folk vibe) th-cam.com/video/TBOdgxjb0kM/w-d-xo.html "Devil & The Deep Dark Ocean" live In Buenos Aires 2018 (metal) th-cam.com/video/t26r_vAYQ0Q/w-d-xo.html "Weak Fantasy" live at Tampere 2015 (dark metal) th-cam.com/video/AN239Pbqbjo/w-d-xo.html "7 Days To The Wolves" live at Wembley 2015 (dark metal) th-cam.com/video/XvsfwAPbWXc/w-d-xo.html And if you want to be surprised by Floor's vocals :) then try "Yours Is An Empty Hope" live at Mexico City in 2015 th-cam.com/video/DuwY1d-KIss/w-d-xo.html @Nightwish Arena: Since most of the reactors end up doing a lot of reactions from Wacken 2013 concert, they should be warned that there are a lot of slowed down and even high pitched versions of this concert, so it is better to use only official videos or this version of the whole concert: th-cam.com/video/cAwtzi7Q3Bk/w-d-xo.html Last but not the least - they released their 9th studio album on April 10th 2020 named "Human :||: Nature" - just take a peek to their official playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLihZ3gi5Yvzc0pfH2cbNKUUX8o3pb8eVg.html (for example: "Shoemaker", the 3rd track from this album, tells the story of Eugene Shoemaker, one of the founders of planetary science, whose ash was sent on the Moon after his death, as a tribute from the scientific community ..) This was the first Nightwish song I had ever heard...11 months ago and I can not get enough of them. Even with different female lead singers, this band has stood the test of time. Glad you finally took the plunge into the rabbit hole. It is quite an adventure.
Finnish my friend. They are amazing. Tarja (female singer) is the 1st vocalist of Nightwish. She was dismissed in 2004, right after the show you just experienced. "The End of an Era", which was a full dvd. The current vocalist, Floor Jansen, the Dutch Valkyrie queen of symphonic metal is just as amazing and able to bring a multitude of vocal stylings and colors to her live performances. Gabriel Bardac below will provide you with a plethora of suggestions for additional reactions to Nightwish, as well as an overwhelming load of history on the band. I loved it! Hope to see you again very soon my friend.
Welcome to the first era of Nightwish! 😁 Tarja, the woman you just heard, is the first vocalist and one of the founding members of the group, wich was born in 1996. Of the band's 9 studio albums, 5 were recorded with her, 2 with Anette and 2 with Floor, the current singer. Most of the songs people suggest in Floor's voice were not originally recorded by her, so it would be nice if in addition to the newer versions you also heard the originals. Each song sounds completely different depending on who is singing. Nightwish initially proposed to have a lyrical singer as a vocalist. That was the identity and the big difference of the band in the past, however, from the second vocalist that changed. The band also went through other member changes. Including, Marko himself, the man singing, is not the original bass player. He joined the band from the fourth album, Century Child. Tarja left the band in 2005, before google buys TH-cam. The performance you just watched is from the "End of an era" dvd ( th-cam.com/play/PLexzLA11Cst25qKz-jqq513Dr02I2jG4q.html ).Most of the live performances from her time were posted by fans. The DVD "End of an era" was recorded in 2005. This entire DVD is incredible. A curiosity about this show is that Tarja hardly did it. She was sick that day and recorded this show on medication. You can usually find good videos with Tarja on the "Nightwish Arena" channel. As for Anette, I advise you to always listen to the studio versions of her. Live videos are not usually very good with Anette, but she has a very beautiful voice. Floor joined Nightwish in 2012 as a temporary member and became permanent in 2013. It is easy to find good live performances with her. Many of these videos were posted by the band itself. In general the Nightwish live performances are magical, but the studio versions are also excellent. In addition, there are some iconic songs that you will not find live version or, when you do, the quality of the recording is terrible. An example of this is "Beauty of the beast" (th-cam.com/video/lwerko8X_aU/w-d-xo.html). This is a song from "Century Child" album. So far only Tarja has sung it. There is a live version, but the quality of the existing videos is very bad, even in the remastered ones. This can ruin your first experience. Because of that, I strongly suggest the studio version as the first experience. If you like to enjoy the lyrics of the songs, "Beauty of the beast" has a romantic gothic style. Nightwish had a different style in Tarja's time. Originally the band was a mix of Gothic metal, power metal, symphonic music and folk music. From Anette on, the influences of power metal and gothic metal are almost nonexistent. It is important not to confuse "Beauty OF the beast" with "Beauty AND the beast". Nightwish has these two songs. In case you want to know, there is a good live version of "Beauty AND the beast" recorded on the dvd "From wishes to eternity" (th-cam.com/video/v8vA260-AOU/w-d-xo.html). This is the band's first DVD. It was recorded in 2000 and released in 2001, before Marko joined the group. It is a much simpler DVD than the ones Nightwish makes today, but it is excellent. At the beginning of their career the band did not have many financial or technical resources. This is a 21-year-old recording. At the time the group was on their third album, "Wishmaster", and they had done their first world tour. Tarja has a solo career with many iconic performances and partnerships. I would like to suggest "Victim of ritual", a live performance recorded at Woodstock in 2016 (th-cam.com/video/GxDnhbGTJSs/w-d-xo.html). If you prefer something quieter, I suggest the song "The Living End", a live performance recorded in a church in Wacken. In this performance, Tarja is accompanied only by a piano, a violin and a cello. It's beautiful. There is a video of this performance on Wacken TV channel. It's a video with 6 songs, but in the description there is their name for you to click and be taken to the one you want (th-cam.com/video/uUAzRN9Co7s/w-d-xo.html). Thank you!
Since I seem to be a little ahead of the army this time, let me sneak in some recommendations. Nightwish is quite diverse with a metal undertone, orchestra, some folk, rock, even pop elements thrown in. Best overall word maybe is "epic"? Judge for yourself. So, where you want to go from here? Fast show opener for 82k people? "Dark Chest Of Wonders" live from Wacken 2013. Fun uplifting with a strong folk element? "I Want My Tears Back" live from Buenos Aires 2018. A nice ballad written for a sun solstice? "Sleeping Sun" live from Tampere 2015 (or from End Of An Era concert for the singer you just listened to, Tarja Turunen) Something slower with a Wagneresque ending (with some soul thrown in)? "Meadows Of Heaven" studio version. Some vocal acrobatics from the current singer, Floor Jansen? "Devil And The Deep Dark Ocean" live from Buenos Aires 2018. I'll leave it at that, you will get tons of requests. Have fun!
It's actually really cool that you're starting your Nightwish journey with the Tarja era. As a suggestion maybe a reaction to "dark chest of wonders" from the same show as this. To throw a suggestion for a new band into the mix you might want to check out the song Swedish metal band Sabaton They themselves have found their niche and passion in making songs about actual historical battles and individuals who performed almost unbelievable deeds. "40:1" and "ghost division" live at the Woodstock Poland festival in 2012 "The red baron" live in Berlin and "en livstid I krig" (dont worry it has English closed captions) live in Gothenburg both from The Great Tour. In my opinion though the best jumping off point for them would be the song and music video "Christmas truce" which is an early pre-release from their upcoming album The War To End All Wars.
Nightwish did tour Aussie and NZ, sold out all venues then. This was the last performance of singer Tarja with them, current singer is Floor Jansen (Dutch)
Hi, me here, love, Nightwish, latest singer, was/is Floor Jansen, I think she did some stuff with Post Modern Jukebox. You obviously love amazing. Try the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly version by the Danish Philharmonic.
Nice reaction, thank you! Tarja Turunen (female singer) is one of the founding members of the band. If you like operatic/rock versions all those "End Of An Era" songs are really great! Vocals (Tarja and Marko Hietala) are special in "The Siren" and "Slaying The Dreamer". The second singer has more radio frendly/poppy voice. Third (now) singers style is more classic rock style, powerful and well balanced to the band. Usually all those live shows are amazing! Wish you interesting and enjoyable ride with Nightwish!
This band is from Finland. This is the original singer Tarja Turunen. This was her last show with Nightwish. After her came Anette Olzon from Sweden. More pop vocals and NOT everyones favourite. I love her with Nightwish, especially her studio albums. The current singer, Floor Jansen (Dutch) is a monster. She sings like Tarja and Anette combined plus everything in between.
Anette is great in Amaranth! (Floor is awesome. But put her in their first three albums, she's sound just like tarja, desperate to create a genre for their stuff. They didn't break out until then.)
I haven't watched this group with the original lead singer but with floor jansen she's incredible and also does a duet of this song phantom of the opera amazing 👏
Nightwish Army USA (Pa) division reporting for duty . this is from 2005 with there 1st singer Tarja . General Gabriel will assist you with a list of links to follow. & check out there 3rd and current singer Floor Jansen
They are sensational indeed. If you love this kind of combination of metal music and operatic vocals, then I suggest that you dig deeper on their older stuff. This "End Of An Era (2005)" concert you just watched is great place to start. Or just go even further and try "From Wishes To Eternity (2000)". I still have to warn you, that unfortunately some new fans are not going to like it too much, because they are all into Floor Jansen now. Floor is amazing, but she sings more contemporary and rock/metal style in most of the songs. I love them both, and I like Anette too, who was between them, she had more pop/rock approach to singing. Anyhow, there is a lot to explore.
@@NightwishArena Tämä oli ystävällisen napakka. En tiedä, rauhoittuisiko osa ihmisistä hieman eilisen miksi_en_enää_reaktoi_... ilmoituksen jälkeen. Osa reaktoijista on ollut melko hämmentyneitä alettuaan lukemaan kommentteja :D Luin kommentteja muualla hieman tarkempaan ja ainakaan minun mielestäni ilmiö ei esiinny näin vahvana - jos ollenkaan - katsomissani reaktioissa. Oli jotenkin levollista vierailla esim. Wintersunin "puolella". :)
@@osk9013 toivottavasti tilanne hiukan rauhoittuu.
Ah, olipa mukava vaihtaa ajatuksia kanssasi! :)
Hey Soul, Welcome to the energy fuelled, goosebump filled world of Nightwish!! You have opened up a long future of one of the tightest, best song writing bands of the current times. I'm sure there will be many requests for The Poet and the Pendulum live at Wembley. Hold off for now on that one. Get to know the band and the first singer (Tarja), along with the current singer Floor. The Poet and the Pendulum is a song you have to do research on to get it's full impact when you do react to it. It is pretty much the pinnacle of the Nightwish journey (along with Ghost Love Score of course). Also, Marko, the bass player/singer does an incredible solo cover of Pink Fliyd's High Hopes-from the same concert as this video (End Of An Era). Liked and subscribed and looking forward to coming along the Nightwish journey with you!!
Hello! Thanks for your reaction!I advise you to listen: sleeping sun, come cover me, wish I had an angel -solo Tarja, 7 days to the wolves - solo Annette.. the islander. Sorry for the mistake, I hope I wrote it clearly. Nightwish is one of my favourites bands, I'm very glad that now you are making reaction to their clips

Go ahead män and keep 'em coming... More Nightwish 😜 Nice to see when someone gets hyped of their performance for the first time, even nowadays. Cheers from Finland 🇫🇮, the Mother Land of Nightwish 🤟😎
Hi there Soul Reacts! I think you just opened the "Nightwish box", there is a good and joyful journey coming up, if you will. I liked to watch your face while reacting. Welcome to the world wide Nightwish army, and thank you for your comments. You could follow the playlist of Gabriel to take the most of it. Greets from Finland. Take care.
surprised ? =) Welcome to Nightwish ! Based on your testimony, I strongly recommend trying "Ghost Love Score" Live in Wacken 2013 ... it will blow your mind for sure ! After hearing your outro words, I rub my hands in anticipation ! Seems you have found your honeypot here
This Nightwish version is amazing! Singer in this was band first singer Tarja Turunen -2005. Next check out their current singer(3rd) Floor Jansen 2012- and band own songs. Recommend Ghost love Score(wacken 2013, Shudder Before Beautiful(Wembley are 2015) or from new album(2020) Shoemaker. This on is tribute to American scientists Eugene Shoemaker. And Gabriel list also very good guideline.
Good luck with your journey :p And stay strong with fans, NW has very... 'active'... fan base. You will be offered mainly the third singer but, IMO, the other two are also worth knowing. (Only that when reacting to the singers 1 and 2, you will get more 'thumbs down'. It seems that some fans of the current singer would love to sweep band's history under the carpet. For some reason Phantom of the Opera is kind of accepted even with number one, Tarja Turunen, or perhaps it is because of wonderful male vocalist, Marko Hietala, who is like Norway - loved almost by everybody.) EDIT: LMAO I just read the comments arrived. Wherever Tarja or Anette are performing, Floor is rush in! ;) How about just once to go this way: suggest the best song - in your opinion - from each NW album starting from the beginning?
"...active..." LOL I like how you were diplomatic with your word choices. Yeah this community is certainly different. But all three female singers bring something good to the table. New fans and old should be open minded about the music.
My favorite Nightwish songs are from Anette and Tarja era albums, but with Floor singing. What can I say, I like the additional flavor that Floor sprinkles in during the live performances as well as the addition of Troy playing live on the Tarja era songs. Tarja and Anette have all my respect, but Floor has my ear. Sorry, not sorry I guess.
@@pro-v7500 "Not sorry" is an honest, and therefore the only acceptable statement :) We all have our own preferences what makes this all more interesting. It just makes me... confused, perhaps (sometimes irritated)... that sometimes some commentators start immediately pull the reactor to another direction instead of focusing on the the performance they just watched. The comments like "good song, wrong singer", "not this one, you should have watched Wacken/Buenos Aires/... from 2013 onwards".
Kitos is the same as thank you! I've seen the Phantom of the opera twice live. But nothing can compare to Tarjas and Marcos song and Nightwish's fantastic version of the song!
Hello, you liked Marco's voice so much, we are all also delighted, please be sure to react to the cover of "HIGH HOPE" Pink Floyd !!!!! I think I will be supported by other connoisseurs 👍For me, this song is ideal for music, emotions, lyrics in their performance. In Nightwish a very strong bond between the members of the group, and they give everyone their uniqueness and originality ❤️😍 Thank you
Settle in Soul you are in for a long ride in addition to Nightwish I'm betting Epica, Within Temptation, Unleash the Archers, & Ayreon to name a few on going to be highly recommended.
Recommend start with the era on Nighwish End of and era 2005 an work your up to date with singers. Nighwish was formed 1996 by Tuomas , Tarja and Emppu in highschool. 5 album up to end of and era 2005.
No shade … but you look like Mr. Clean!! (Not an insult!) I never heard this before .. I really enjoyed it. Vocals weren’t perfect, but I still got goosebumps
Thnx 4 this. Go on with the stuff. Welcome to the Nightwish army^^. Please listen to Song of myself, at Wacken. And, i am sure this will leave you speachless, the Gratest show on earth at Tampere. Due to Marco's voice , the wiking bassman, give The Islander and High hopes a try Peace from Germany and please stay save
Or check out the real original Ghost Love Score which is with Tarja from this same End of an Era concert you just reacted to. That original version has more symphonic / operatic touch than Floors cover of that song. Both versions are equally good.
@@johnnytiger7580 I enjoy both, but one thing the Wacken performance has going for it above all others is the production quality. Like not even talking about preferred vocalists… Wacken 2013 is a phenomenal live album. Amongst some of the best in any genre with regard to production quality.
@@pro-v7500 Well, I'm not a sound engineer and I do not hear any difference in the production quality on Wacken 2013 and End Of An Era, The camera work is slightly different. I do like when reactors starting to listen to "old" Nightwish with Tarja It's refreshing to hear original versions of the songs. After all she is the singer who, together with the band and music made them famous before times of TH-cam.
The current singer, Floor Jansen, has a versatile, powerful and pitch perfect voice. Her vocals cover every genre. As it appears you like the heavier side of Nightwish, good song to check out would be Storytime. 😄🤘m.th-cam.com/video/pvkYwOJZONU/w-d-xo.html
Tarja Turunen is a classically trained lyrical soprano. After Nightwish, she has had a really nice solo career both in rock and classical music. Please react to her with Mein Herr Marquis from her Beauty and The Beat tour with Mike Terrana, Supremacy (Muse cover) from Woodstock 2016 and Oasis (written by her, performs playing a piano) in Argentina 2012. Here are the links: mein herr marquis th-cam.com/video/761qOzEdl8E/w-d-xo.html supremacy th-cam.com/video/e5zEb5xFlIE/w-d-xo.html oasis th-cam.com/video/K3QmQN7VSNI/w-d-xo.html
Tarja has formal classical training She started music education in Finland and then moved to study classical music in Germany, Karlsruhe's University of Music. The current singer has some basic classical training but she didn't like it so she started study in rock school in Holland some years instead. Tarja had an tour called Beauty & Beat together with drummer Mike Terrana There she sings lots of classical songs. You can find it on TH-cam. She has also recorded classical songs.
Nightwish army is intense. Tara, Annette, and Were the soloist, and Floor is currently. The band is phenomenal. Please check out Sabaton. All of their music is from historic battles. All songs are original. It is a knee slapping good time. I promise.
"Didah" or what she said at the end of the performance is not Dutch. It concerned probably a word of thanks, and in Dutch it is "Dank u" or "Dank u wel". I like the long notes at the end of each line of this song. Soul orientates me to worlds of music than I am not yet well up in (and to other worlds as well ). So this is enriching - thanks/dank.
This is Symphonic Metal, the merge of symphony and metal music. Often written / composed in chapters, super tight musicians and singers beyond your imagination. These singers, especially their current lead, are among the very few singers that have the skills, talent and breath and voice techniques, to combine opera, rock and metal - in the same sentence...... Not kidding!! They are the best storytellers you will ever meet. Please read Gabriel's info once more, and for at start, stick to his list for a proper introduction to this incredible world of magically music. The links he provided you, are links with corrected speed and dome of the best audio. Unfortunately there are lots of bad links out there - and also a few trolls. And remember - just ask what you want to hear - The Nightwish Army will do their best to help you. Nightwish music are diverse and versatile like nothing else - but also delivered the best possible way, so the audience will get the ultimate experience of each song. Greetings from Nightwish Army Denmark 🇩🇰 👍 💪 🤘 🤘
Poet and the pendulum is must see frim this band! And make sure u make some research before it so you can understand all story. An offcourse take that lyric version
Please react to Lovebites, the phenomenal all female heavy metal band from Japan who sing in English and have TWO of the best guitar players ever. They sound just as good as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Slayer. Do their song "Set the World on Fire" live th-cam.com/video/99zsH6iG_6c/w-d-xo.html
Gabe, can you stop pointing out the bittersweet? People don't want to know. People can find out later. Just let them enjoy this song. (I know it's hard! But contain yourself. Maybe some other time. sniff)
Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory):
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer.
She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile)
There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era.
So be prepared. lol "
Hoping you'll continue this journey with us, I'll drop here a list of songs (with links) with the current lineup of the band you may like (please consider this list of links only as "a tip of the iceberg", an indication that they have a vast and very diverse repertoire, and not as something mandatory):

@Nightwish Arena: Since most of the reactors end up doing a lot of reactions from Wacken 2013 concert, they should be warned that there are a lot of slowed down and even high pitched versions of this concert, so it is better to use only official videos or this version of the whole concert: th-cam.com/video/cAwtzi7Q3Bk/w-d-xo.html
Last but not the least - they released their 9th studio album on April 10th 2020 named "Human :||: Nature" - just take a peek to their official playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLihZ3gi5Yvzc0pfH2cbNKUUX8o3pb8eVg.html (for example: "Shoemaker", the 3rd track from this album, tells the story of Eugene Shoemaker, one of the founders of planetary science, whose ash was sent on the Moon after his death, as a tribute from the scientific community ..)
The links presented above are with the current singer of the band, Floor Jansen, since I'm a fan of the recent era of the band, with Floor as the singer. That being said, I will add here the messages left the other days by some old fans of the band.
@Fabrizio Gorla: To be fair to the old fanbase, you may want to include also some of these songs.

Dammit Gabriel, I thought I could get ahead of you just once :-D
Just follow Gabriel instructions and be happy...
This was the first Nightwish song I had ever heard...11 months ago and I can not get enough of them. Even with different female lead singers, this band has stood the test of time. Glad you finally took the plunge into the rabbit hole. It is quite an adventure.
Here comes the Nightwish Army! 🤘🏽🔥
Get ready to be absolutely inundated with requests and info, bro. 😁
Best version of any song ever made. But that's just how I feel it. Great reaction!
Best cover of this song i ever heard. Both of them are great singers.
Who was your original? Sarah Brightley? :)
"We got another one, prepare the rabbit hole!"
Marko.. the best Phantom ever 🤟
Feel the Nightwish flow through you 🦄🦄🦄
Welcome to the first era of Nightwish!
"Sleeping Sun" live from Tampere 2015 (or from End Of An Era concert for the singer you just listened to, Tarja Turunen)
Something slower with a Wagneresque ending (with some soul thrown in)?
"40:1" and "ghost division" live at the Woodstock Poland festival in 2012
"The red baron" live in Berlin and "en livstid I krig" (dont worry it has English closed captions) live in Gothenburg both from The Great Tour.
In my opinion though the best jumping off point for them would be the song and music video "Christmas truce" which is an early pre-release from their upcoming album The War To End All Wars.
Welcome and enjoy your ride into this amazing band!!Greetings from Greece
Well Soul, welcome to Nightwish. And every song is incredible!!
Nice reaction, mate. This version rocks. My favourite version as well.
THANKS !!!!
And to think that divine precious TARJA was ill for this epic performance.
In love with TARJA'S vast brilliant diverse solo career ☮☮💘💘
Nightwish did tour Aussie and NZ, sold out all venues then.
This was the last performance of singer Tarja with them, current singer is
Floor Jansen (Dutch)
This woman maces me cry, like this girls in the video ❤️
Great reaction, thank you 😁👍🤘 Nightwish is from Finland. They are ausumn, worth checking 100%! Nightwish rules!❤🤘🤘 Marko is his name 😁🥰🤘🤘
My favourite version of Phantom great to see you watch this
I haven't watched this group with the original lead singer but with floor jansen she's incredible and also does a duet of this song phantom of the opera amazing 👏
Моя любимая песня в этом исполнении!
Niin se on minunkin suosikki.
Markoa ikävä..
Nicely formed comment :)
@@osk9013 kiitos.
Wintersunin "puolella". :)
@@osk9013 toivottavasti tilanne hiukan rauhoittuu.
Ah, olipa mukava vaihtaa ajatuksia kanssasi! :)
Best live band on the planet imho. Thankyou more nightwish please any songs from wacken they are all gems stick with live.
enjoy the ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kiitos from Finland.
I found you with Home Free, but I love heavy metal and symphonic metal especially. Love this version so much!
" Kiitos " is finnish for " Thank You "
BTW thanks for reacting to this masterpiece by Nightwish.

Go ahead män and keep 'em coming... More Nightwish 😜
Nice to see when someone gets hyped of their performance for the first time, even nowadays.
Cheers from Finland 🇫🇮, the Mother Land of Nightwish 🤟😎
Hi there Soul Reacts! I think you just opened the "Nightwish box", there is a good and joyful journey
coming up, if you will. I liked to watch your face while reacting. Welcome to the world wide Nightwish
army, and thank you for your comments. You could follow the playlist of Gabriel to take the most of it.
Greets from Finland. Take care.
"I love these rock operas" you said, then Ghost Loves Ghost by Nightwish is a must!
Pure magic 🙏 Tarja4Evr ❤️❤️❤️
Welcome to the magical world of Nightwish!
surprised ? =)
Welcome to Nightwish !
All hale the REAL TRUE QUEEN of Nightwish!!!!!!, the very beautiful looking and very unique voice of the enchanting TARJA!!!!!😃👍👍👍👍👍👍
Kiitos means thanks on Finnish, This is from 2005
Good luck with your journey :p And stay strong with fans, NW has very... 'active'... fan base. You will be offered mainly the third singer but, IMO, the other two are also worth knowing.
(Only that when reacting to the singers 1 and 2, you will get more 'thumbs down'. It seems that some fans of the current singer would love to sweep band's history under the carpet. For some reason Phantom of the Opera is kind of accepted even with number one, Tarja Turunen, or perhaps it is because of wonderful male vocalist, Marko Hietala, who is like Norway - loved almost by everybody.)
EDIT: LMAO I just read the comments arrived.
@@jimmyboy131 Usually Finns get good results in diplomacy and peace negotiations but this might be a lost case... 😭 ( 😉 )
@@osk9013 Yes :):):)
Something with a tip and an iceberg…🤘🏻
Mr Clean reacts to Nightwish: Phantom of the Opera. I'm here for it
i thought he was H.P. Baxter
Check out the current singer , Floor Jansen, on Beste Zingers. Her partner in this was the Dutch Phantom.
Marko really is awesome singer. Not many can compare.
Kitos is the same as thank you!
I've seen the Phantom of the opera twice live. But nothing can compare to Tarjas and Marcos song and Nightwish's fantastic version of the song!
Listen to ghost love score from nightwish...incredible!!!
GLS! GLS!
😍🇫🇮🇫🇮🇫🇮❤️
Hello, you liked Marco's voice so much, we are all also delighted, please be sure to react to the cover of "HIGH HOPE" Pink Floyd !!!!! I think I will be supported by other connoisseurs 👍For me, this song is ideal for music, emotions, lyrics in their performance. In Nightwish a very strong bond between the members of the group, and they give everyone their uniqueness and originality ❤️😍 Thank you
😊🇫🇮🤘❤️🎶🎹🎸🥁✨👍
And please go strait to The Wacken-13 Party a'la Nigthwish 🎶❤️🤘
Come for Tarya, stay for Marco! LOL!
Not staying for Tarja at all? Or for both of them? :)
One of her replacements Floor Jansen is a Valkyrie Goddess! Check out their performance of "Ghost Love Score" at Wacken.
poor singer
Hope you react to some more Nightwish soon. :)
Gabriel, who was the first bass player?
Settle in Soul you are in for a long ride in addition to Nightwish I'm betting Epica, Within Temptation, Unleash the Archers, & Ayreon to name a few on going to be highly recommended.
Good recommendations. Something a bit more unusual if a bit theatrical/cinematic approach to metal is interesting: Dark Sarah? And Battle Beast.
Nightwish Army incoming...
Recommend start with the era on Nighwish End of and era 2005 an work your up to date with singers. Nighwish was formed 1996 by Tuomas , Tarja and Emppu in highschool. 5 album up to end of and era 2005.
No shade … but you look like Mr. Clean!! (Not an insult!)
I never heard this before .. I really enjoyed it. Vocals weren’t perfect, but I still got goosebumps
Hahahaha..i just looked up who Mr Clean is and we definitely have the same haircut:)
Now you have a lot to do....dude
🇸🇪🇫🇮
Thnx 4 this. Go on with the stuff. Welcome to the Nightwish army^^.
Please listen to Song of myself, at Wacken. And, i am sure this will leave you speachless, the Gratest show on earth at Tampere.
Due to Marco's voice , the wiking bassman, give The Islander and High hopes a try
Peace from Germany and please stay save
As a songwirter you should react to their original music.Ghost Love Score with their present singer Floor Jansen would be a good start.
@@johnnytiger7580 fully agree.

Are these rock operas members classically trained?
Tarja has formal classical training She started music education in Finland and then moved to study classical music in Germany, Karlsruhe's University of Music. The current singer has some basic classical training but she didn't like it so she started study in rock school in Holland some years instead.
Tarja had an tour called Beauty & Beat together with drummer Mike Terrana There she sings lots of classical songs. You can find it on TH-cam. She has also recorded classical songs.
You must try Floor Jansen and Henk Poort in Beste Zangers with Phantom of the opera. Please
Nightwish army is intense. Tara, Annette, and Were the soloist, and Floor is currently. The band is phenomenal. Please check out Sabaton. All of their music is from historic battles. All songs are original. It is a knee slapping good time. I promise.
Check out Wardruna feat Aurora "Helvegen". It will blow you away
Hi could you check out 'Mary did you know' by Pentatonix
"Didah" or what she said at the end of the performance is not Dutch. It concerned probably a word of thanks, and in Dutch it is "Dank u" or "Dank u wel".
I like the long notes at the end of each line of this song.
Soul orientates me to worlds of music than I am not yet well up in (and to other worlds as well ). So this is enriching - thanks/dank.
She says "kiitos" ("thank you") and it is Finnish 😊
@@hietalamari1301 OK Thank you so much !!!
C'mon man, get some more nightwish reactions going. Rock on
Nightwish is originaly a Finnish symphonic metal band
Next Nightwish. Ghost love score live at Wacken.
Kiitos mean thank you in Finnish.
Wait until you watch the current singer, Floor Jansen. You will collect your jaw from the floor.
You will enjoy Floor Jansen with Nightwish - all very talent musicians .
Maybe some other time. sniff)
