I love K-Pop, but I'm so happy that my TH-cam has been recommending other groups to me as well. I found a few groups from the Philippines today that I really like. Honestly, I mostly listen to girl groups, but I really like what ALAMAT is producing.

I wish I could articulate it better. They've got all the elements right and it feels like it's well put together. Makes me think of that old adage on the perfect wedding dress: something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. Visually, the production is impeccable. The artists are talented for sure, but with the right team behind them, they're mesmerizing to look at. The director's vision, stylists' work, costume and wardrobe, the camera work, coloring, editing are definitely at par with kpop, jpop, tpop I've seen. I am by no means an expert but man the quality made me go through most of the MV at 1AM. My heart is glad that they've used more than 1 fabric in their costumes, plus they've used colors and Pinoy design elements without making it look like patchwork, tacky or an afterthought. The pieces are classy, wearable and definitely can go mainstream. I love that they use the native language in the lyrics, adore how perfectly they flow, an earworm that hooks you in even if you don't fully understand the lyrics. You feel a shared ownership with the music through the language, the lyrics or simply the familiarity with the melody, rhythm or genre. Oddly it feels familiar yet new at the same time. I will not pretend to know anything about choreography, I can't explain why but it's not the complicated choreography I find fascinating when I watch a performance, but how clean the lines and angles are, the visual patterns, textures, the levels, the way it looks effortless despite the number of steps. I don't know why, but I like seeing the limbs elongated elegantly in choreography, maybe it allows full expression in some way? Unquestionably, these boys are talented, their vocals are great. I'm sure a lot of fans like the way they look. But somehow through chance or luck that put all these talented people behind the camera and on camera, my brain tells me if there ever was a formula for concocting the perfect ppop group, this team has cracked the code-at least for the foreseeable future. Commendable effort to everyone involved.

Thats their concept brand mixing folk cultural with modern (most of their songs from music, dance fashion statement and MV production has cultural or historical value) hence also advocacy of edutainment. They would incorporate music from local native instruments in a song also even utilizing folk style singing + sampling folk song and also the choreo multiple cultural and local tribal dances. Fashion full traditional and cultural-modern design wardrobe they show in their MVs.

Taneo’s movement is so fluid no wonder why he’s the main dancer and leader in terms of dancing in the group. You can easily noticed him talaga. Aside from him Jao’s sharp movement and love the hair flip tho main dancers💅💅💅
One of my thoughts while watching the MV when it was first released was, "Oh, they should release a story version, the full Singkil performance, and a dance version". And they really did! Maharani is indeed the great queen. From the song to the choreography, the fits, the visuals, the MV. I'm glad they treated this song like a queen that she is.
