When i first saw these (in burnt Orange) in early 2000s, i said "this is the ugliest bass I've ever seen, who would ever?" I bought a purple one last year. I'm in love with a toilet seat.

The only problem with players this talented is they can make anything sound excellent. But Darkglass does make the best bass gear! I’m a big fan.

Why is there tape over the 4th and 5th strings' neck pickup?
Probably his play style, I've done that before because sometimes the strings will make contact with your pickup and make a loud pop sound, so to cancel that you'd usually put a thick piece of electric tape or something. His bass is probably set really low so with a heavy hand strike, contact can happen pretty often.
That neck pickup is much higher than the factory setup. Because of that it’s quite easy to hit the pole pieces with the strings even with a lighter touch which makes a huge “pop” noise.

They also use ibanez and warwick occasionally
Nic 6661 they don’t really use Ibanez anymore, to my knowledge lol. they mostly stick with the Bongos, and used the Warwick Thump 6 string on the upcoming album.

All Darkglass tone I hear are amazing, but when it comes to me dialing one thru a B7K, it sucks :( I think this gear isn’t for me... so bad because they are amazing pieces !
it also depends on your bass, amps (if you’re not just going direct), compressors, and blend as well. i wouldn’t give up, rather just revaluate what you’re doing wrong in the tone, and what can be improved
Don’t give up on it man. For me with the Alpha Omega I was having frustrations but found that the blend knob is insanely crucial. I had to have a lot more of my clean signal coming in and then I was like, yes there’s the tone.

diregremo they have an actual drummer who plays. His name is Jerome Lematua. I think this is just a the drum track they played over.
Great performance. Only one very small issue. Clip-on tuners on headstocks during performance look ugly and insult the designer‘s effort of creating a beautiful instrument.
