    They always go on sale, just be patient. I got their right angle impact for $99.

      I like that Ridgid sells a 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch right angle impact. $99 is a good price for that.

      @davidricardo86 I jumped on that when it went on sale, it was deal of the day right before this past Christmas. It was the 1/2 or 3/8. I picked the 1/2. Wish I had got both at that time. It will be back on sale though, I'm sure.

      @@lthegr81 I want both sizes too. Except I'm on Kobalt's 24v battery and it only offers a 3/8 inch right angle impact wrench.

      Indeed, but I'm guessing you got the 1/2" RAIW, right? It has been on sale, hackable under $100. But the 3/8" lowest I've seen it is $129 straight price (non-hackable). In fact right now the 1/2" is on sale for the same $129 but the 3/8" is full price. Don't get it but will def. wait it out until the 3/8" goes on a hackable/better deal. Ryobi is doing the same thing with their USB ratchets--the 3/8" has been on sale, is now in promo, but the 1/4" has never been discounted. Gotta play more waiting games there too!

    These are great for tight areas, like between the radiator and front grill, with fasteners a foot away.

    Do a video breaking loose exhaust manifolds on Chevy or gmc truck! The long reach looks good

    I like these extended reach slim ratchets, the 2ah battery makes sense for most jobs. Did Ridgid say how much manual torque can be applied to these ratchets?
    I have a Kobalt 3/8 inch ratchet that claims the tool can withstand 150 ft-lbs of manual force applied to it.

    I really like watching your videos and this one is no exception, but I hope you don't mind me poking a little fun at your expense. At the end of this video you were very informative but you reminded me of the Swedish chef from the Muppets where I see your head and your hands is just waving around. I had to laugh to myself when I saw this, I think it was because of the dark shirt and dark back ground, Sorry 😂

    When it doesnt crack free, but does when you neutral drop/get a running start, i wonder if you turn the socket by hand a click or two then put it back on the fastener, or maybe even while its on the fastener, if it will give it that little extra. Or maybe even pull it off the fastener, pull the trigger, put it back on the fastener and pull it again if it will crack free.

    LET'S GO TJ 🏁
    I don't really see a downside to the 1/4" over the 3/8"....
    6:25.. I looked at these on their site and I saw they only sold them for Snap on and Milwaukee so I debated on whether or not to buy them. I have the Ridgid. .good to know they'll work....

    • @rolandm9750
      @rolandm9750 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Much easier to break the anvil on the 1/4" if you overdo it/misuse it manually. The 1/4" is higher RPM but less torque. Ridgid ratchets are fairly unique with this property--they get faster and less powerful as you go down in drive size. So it's kind of like the 1/4" is the "high speed" while the 1/2" (not available in extended) is the "high torque"...instead of having two lines of tools.
      I have the 1/4" and 3/8" standard reach and they're far better than the Milwaukees IMO, as well as the Ryobis that are basically based on the Milwaukee designs. For some reason the Ridgids are a departures and a really good one. Better balanced, better ergonomics, just way better feel in the hand and less fatiguing to use, esp. over the older "high torque" Fuels which are very head-heavy.

    I would be torn between this and the Milwaukee thru ratchet. I have ridgid 18v batteries and Milwaukee 12v. Tough calll. I don’t like thing battery in a ratchet setup

      The Milwaukee "Insider" is very expensive and has not yet gone on any good sales/promos I don't think. The Ridgid extendeds are $100 less but can be had on sales/promos/hacks for significantly less than that too. The Insider has the advantage of the nice head design/profile but it retains the terrible rest of the design of other M12 ratchets--the stupid paddle, the poor ergonomics, etc. The Ridgids are far better than all the "normal" Milwaukees IMO, so really all that Insider one has on the Ridgids, is that head. Unless you really think you *need* that head design, I would go for the Ridgid. Just don't use anything other than a 2Ah battery on the Ridgid ratchets--that's all you want and need.

      The right angle impact I got is the 1/2” version it hits pretty hard for what it is. The long reach ratchet is 3/8” it can get in a lot tighter spots

    • @rolandm9750
      @rolandm9750 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's personal preference I suppose, and also depends on what/where you are typically working on. I much prefer standard length power ratchets as I find the extended ones more awkward. When working from above extended reach has some advantages in reaching places better; but those times aren't all that common. Rest of the time it's just more awkward. When working from below, typically as a DIYer would (on stands, probably a couple feet off the ground) extended reach becomes more of a hassle/nussiance and nearly never what you want. IMO extendeds are more of a niche tool than an "everyday" tool. If you have neither I would always recommend starting with a standard reach first, then think about an extended afterwards if you think you really need it. Just my $0.02.

      Yes, we know. Everyone always ask for it if we don't do it this way. We agree, cordless ratchets are meant for nut-running, not breaking free fasteners. Thanks for watching.

      Milwaukees are no comparison, honestly.. Terrible stupid paddle, poor ergonomics, and the original/higher torque Fuel ones are very head-heavy on top of the bargain (terrible balance and high fatigue factor). The "OG" brushed one may not be bad but the performance is not really there and that's where the dumb paddle started lol.
      I had a Fuel 2557 and when I used the R866011 (standard reach) the first time, not only did I buy one but I sold the M12. *Then* I proceeded to buy a R866010B (the 1/4" version). Yep, the Ridgids are so good that I bought two. The M12 was just annoying to use, honestly. I get the newer "high speed" ones are not head-heavy but that does nothing about the dumb paddle.
      The Dewalt 12Vs are very good too though, and also much better than the Milwaukees as well IMO. I was actually going to buy one of those at first but then I tried the Ridgid too and forgot about the DeWalt. Nothing wrong with the DeWalts but the price is higher and I have a lot more Ridgid batts. The Milwaukee ratchets are way overrated, you actually use them in real life and you realise there's better options...way better ones. Another one I *don't* recommend is the Kobalt. Well priced and looks good on paper but that thing is a beast to hold in the hand, even with the smallest Kobalt battery. There's a lot more to something like a ratchet than a brand name and fanboying. Use them and find out.
