Asalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatahu, jazakum Allahu khairun Please explain how superstition is makrooh based off this Hadith It was narrated that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Tiyarah (superstitious belief in omens) is shirk.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (1614), Abu Dawood (3910), Ibn Majaah (3538); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood. Baarak Allahu Feekum
Wa Alaikumus Salam wa Rahamtullahi wa Barakaatuhu. Excellent question, jazakum Allahu khairan! It seems Sh. Yasir didn't mean to include superstition and that he was referring to asking for ruqyah and cauterization being makrooh. If you search his video "All types of superstition" from the VRIC channel on June 8th, 2022, he clearly states that at-tiyarah (deriving omens from releasing birds/superstition) is from the muharramat (prohibited actions). May Allah continue to bless you!
