Thank you Dave. Was looking forward to your perspective on this iem. This is a buy for me by all means. I love understated iems like this which is real value at around 200$.
I'm really trying to hold out for the 7Hz Timeless II (could be a looong wait, i know), but the past few months with these new $200-500 releases are making it super difficult. Though, it's always great to see competition heating up. Thank you so much for the honest reviews! Your channel is an excellent barometer for the hesistant buyers like myself
Just a general question about iem's at the $200 price point. Are iem's in this price bracket a worthwhile upgrade from good sub $100 sets, or does one have to jump to a higher price point to really get a significant upgrade in performance? And if so, what is the price range for a significant upgrade - would something like the Hype 4 at $400 be worthwhile?
This depends on a lot of variables, just because something is more expensive doesn't necessarily dictate it is better. As for the Hype 4 vs the KE4, these two are similar in a lot of ways but have a different tuning. The Hype 4 is more fun sounding, a little more emphatic presentation throughout but similar detail retrieval, resolution and tone and timbre.
SL41 has a little less note weight, a touch more air and space but is t quite as natural with tone and timbre and resolution isn't as defined and focused.
Thanks! Trying to decide between these two for the 11.11 sales on AliExpress. SL41 appeared to be a better value. Much appreciated, Dave! Have a Happy Thanksgiving! Best Wishes to your family! 😃
You know the Tinhifi t3 plus? I want to upgrade them after 3 years. Still like the T3 plus warm-ish tuning but want more technicality. Should the KE4 fit? Or maybe a Ziigaat?
KE4 isn't as forward in the mids as the T3+ but is more neutral and technical. The Ziigaat Estrella is a little more forward in mids then KE4 and similar to T3+ that way as well as being more detailed.
D41 is a little warmer, is more forward in the mids, the KE4 has a little better detail retrieval and resolution, tone and timbre is similar with the D41 sounding a little more thick and warm note weight, staging is similar.
Please keep in mind that I am not a basshead. The 7hz Legato is my defacto recommend for basshead tuning in your price range. Here are a couple other bassy recommends: TRI Meteor, LetShuoer S08.
Great review! KE4 has been my daily driver and your thoughts line up with mine 👍🏻
Awesome 😎 Glad you enjoy the KE4.
Great review as usual Dave! 🙂
I too just reviewed the KE4
Danke!
My pleasure, you're welcome. Thank you for the kind gift.

Glad you enjoy the channel content. If a Timeless 2 is provided or the funds become available, I'll give it a listen and review.

Awesome about the quintet. Hows soundstage between them?
The Quintet has a wider stage but the KE4 is more accurate in imaging and better with layering.
@TheHonestAudiophile thank you. Quintet sounds like a winner for my tastes.
@Graciashauf my pleasure, you're welcome
Hey Dave, how would the Myer Audio SLIIVO SL41 MK2 compare with the Kiwi Ears KE4? Thanks for your review and insight! 😃👍🎶🎵

How would you compare the KE4 to the SLIIVO SL-41? :)
Hi, Dave. Are you gonna review Aful Performer 5+2 in the near future?
If the funds become available or one is provided to the channel, I will gladly listen and review.
I would really like to try the Aful Explorer. It just seems to be a great bang for the buck IEM.
Me too, thanks for the suggestion.
Hmmm, this or D41?
D41 is a little warmer, is more forward in the mids, the KE4 has a little better detail retrieval and resolution, tone and timbre is similar with the D41 sounding a little more thick and warm note weight, staging is similar.
What is the best iem for bassheads under 150 dollar
