You should know that India has been affected by terrorist attacks in the past, and the security measures used by the Indian authorities in airports is to safe guard the assets as well provide safety to the passengers, and I would agree that some of the processes on Indian airports are quite slow and they need to change.
I met an American on Delhi Metro entry once on 25th January, and he was just amazed to see such security. He told me he had never seen so many guns in his life. I had to tell him that it was because of Republic Day.

There was an American guy named David Hadley that recorded everything he went for the attacks of 26/11. From then on Indian security forces are extremely cautious about such incidents in public. That's also the reason vlogging in public places in hotels are not allowed in India.
Well Jet Airways used to be awesome airlines. I have had very good experience s with them. Best airmiles programs even had couple of free reward flights with them. But unfortunately it went bankcorrupt.
The security in Indian airports are very tight. One time, one of my friends' palette knives that she used for painting were confiscated because they came under "weapons" category. She is also at fault here because had she put them in her luggage bags, this wouldn't have happened. Many police officers tried to support us by saying "come on, they are art students. Let she keep it.", but sadly, she couldn't keep it. Also we were very late and feared that we would miss the flight so we didn't try much to get them back. In another instance, one of my bracelets were going to get confiscated because it resembled a dog chain or something 😂. I had removed and put it in the bag so they took it when they saw it through the scanner. I had to wear it and prove the officers that it's a bracelet. I am not complaining about the security as I understand that its for our safety. But instances like these are funny in a scary way 😂.
I just want to say three things just so that next time you travel to India, it is not this unpleasant. :) 1. Indian airports usually have long queues and hence, the airlines want you to be checked-in 45 mins before the flight leaves. That is almost non-negotiable. This bit of warning is given along with the ticket. It may change depending on the kind of traffic an airport handles. Just take a quick look at instructions on tickets. If they haven't mentioned anything, you can claim. 😁 2. Most security at the airport comes from one of our highly trained armed forces wings. India faces a constant terror threat. And it is extremely crucial for us to have a thorough security scan. And yes, that slows down things tremendously sometimes. That is where that 45-minute window can help you. 3. Many airports in India are jointly owned with military and are not civilian airports ( for e.g. Pune Airport). Some are highly sensitive in terms of security. Photography or recording are not allowed at such airports. Please keep the above in your mind. I hope this helps you deal with our airports and helps you not land up in hot water over a photograph just because you didn't know. 🙂
I had a flight from Indore to Bangalore a many years back, when I was around 16, and the attendant at the luggage counter said that my bag was overweight, approx 20Kg, when it was actually 10Kg (I checked before going to the airport). However, to her, the only resolution was to either pay a fine via credit card, debit or cash, or to lose some weight off the bag, which I did by returning my stuff to my grandfather waiting outside of the airport. At the end of everything, I was left with 10Kg, but as soon as I got to Bangalore, I realized that I only had 1 pair of jeans and 2 shirts left. A similar situation occured at the Mumbai domestic airport, where I noticed 2 counters having different weights detected from the same luggage my mother had been carrying, a long long time back.
Before the Mumbai attacks , an American named David headly with ties to the LET went around Mumbai recording videos of targets for Intel . Which is why the recording rules are pretty tough

I was in Hyderabad airport on a flight to Pune. I was ON time despite my wasting 15 minutes being in the wrong check-in queue, but at the security check there was this African lady with a baby. I was trying to be nice and let her go in first because she didn’t have a pram and she seemed a bit clueless about the process. I’m not kidding. They checked her for 15 square minutes. After I was done, I started running towards the gate, and my phone rang. I didn’t pick up the call because, you know, more important things to do. Exactly one and a half minute later I reached the gate, and they tell me that the bus that takes me to the flight is gone, so yeah, I missed my flight. And the lady at the gate tells me that she CALLED me! I swear, if I knew how to swear, that was the moment for me!

And thanks to them i reached on time ....
I was about to miss our flight at Delhi Airport but luckily the flight was delayed and I got it. I reached the airport on time but it took so much time to clear all the process. It was my second time at Delhi Airport. I got delayed because my cab driver couldn't find a Five Star Hotel in Aerocity.
Delhi airport is packed 365 days bcz its one of the major international aviation hub of the Indian state of Delhi as well as India that’s why you see officers with automatic weapons. Always Have to wait in huge ass line for hours, they should do something to improve so that people don’t have to wait in queue for hours to get through immigration.
Jet airways...spent 2k on cab fare and travelled for more than 3hrs to reach the airport 1hr prior the check-in time....no notification whatsoever and then BAAAAM flight got cancelled at around 4:30ish.. no announcement made, had to rely on my gut feeling that something's not right. Upon enquiry the staff was kind enough to let me know that I should go to the ticketing counter for further details (she could have informed me directly about the cancellation). After 30mins or finally got to talk it out with the person incharge who still had the audacity to ask me if I wanted the next earliest flight i.e the very next day. Pissed and hungry... straight out turned down his offer and demand for a refund. Total money spent on traveling- 2500k. Total time spent on traveling- 6+ hrs. Total time and energy wasted- 10+hrs/ uncountable. That's my jet airways experience before it finally got cancelled.

So when i told the security guy that i hv only 10-11 mins left to catch my flight.....thn they really helped me to get thru the security check as fast as they could (in 3-4 mins) ...... And thanks to them i reached on time ....
Where do u want me to put it...XD hilarious
When we visited India (I’m from India now in usa) i showed India to my family of 5 took on all India trip package Via Jet airways in 2002,
Lifetime of dealing with incompetent airport staff has trained me to go 5 hours early. I would go a month earlier if they'd let me. 😂😂
Achara, I faced the same thing in Delhi airport. While I was checking-in, three of the employee started arguing between them.
Whose picture is that near zender's hand ..??
The threat of terrorist attack in Delhi and Mumbai is very real given the past incidents. Thus so much of security.
Hey jaby havent u faced any copyright issues, if u have how do u by pass it...
Haven’t laughed so hard!! (15:18) D*ck Tales!!😆
Did you say 'Achara Card' in the intro?🙊
Achara Picard. It’s a Star Trek joke. Her last name is Kirk like Captain James T Kirk. Captain Picard was the follow up Captain.
Okay.😌 Then I heard it right.
Fun fact : I got a reply for the first time.🤐
Thanks.
