I loved Elvis's music. But... this was a decadent, dysfunctional family. It has turned into a cult of celebrity and death - and a legacy of drugs. The religious element was purely sentimental and patronizing of the fans. This funeral is so twisted that I cannot wrap my head around it... 🥀
This was my dad’s favorite hymn and sung at his funeral. We lost him too soon in 1998. I play this song often and always cry. We are faithful to God and know he is safe with Jesus. It is ourselves we grieve for because we miss him so.
RIP, Lisa. I got to see the Blackwood Bros. Quartet two weeks ago at the ETA Birthday Bash. They were amazing and every bit an integral part of the show as the ETAs. It got me choked up watching online this morning.
