Great video guys! Chalk full of good info 🙂. Who was that guy hanging out with you? (not Brown, the other one).

Hi guys, great video. The delivery captain I used said if you are coming into the country at night to anchor overnight at Tres Punta across the bay and then go into Livingston in the AM. I think even the Rio based delivery skippers with a Zarpe use Raul... so that may imply that even with a Zarpe you would have run into issues... On another not, SV Flying Tigress is parked right next to Eric and we are checking out his printed prosthetics. I'm trying to get something set up to assist him but it is early stages. Thanks for adding to the exposure of that operation.

Thanks for the information. That's interesting. We met a bunch of cruisers that did not use Raul but knew that they needed a zarpe; it took them an hour to walk to immigration and port captain but they said it was easy. If you want a quick, seamless clearance, using Raul will guarantee it. AWESOME news about your being near Eric and trying to help him!! That's GREAT. Thank you SO much for reaching out to him.

Oh and yes we did anchor at Tres Puntas the night prior!! It’s great out there.

Before you got your boat, I remember you checking out several other Leopards including the 40, 48 and one other (I think 50). Are you happy with your decision to get the L44?
Today was the first day I got to check out the L44 while at dock for 15 minutes and both my wife and I liked it. Next step is to sail one and spend a little time on one.
Sort of hard to find 2014+ models with the slider over the front porch.

Hi Steve! Thanks for your question. Yes, we did look at the whole Leopard fleet, but several were out of our budget like the 50 and above. We would have preferred the 48 BUT we are VERY happy with the L44! Now, I think we prefer the L44 as it's the perfect size for 2 people. The storage space is limited, but we make do. It IS hard to find a younger model. They are hard to come by now. I think the 44 owners buy and keep as they are reasonably priced and upkeep doesn't break the bank! We will keep our ears open if anyone we know might be selling. Best of luck in your search. Keep us posted!

I always here about checking out of these countries. Why? What the heck will happen if you just simply sail away without checking out? I doubt they have the budget to send the Guatemalan Coast Guard after you haha. It's so dumb.

Thanks for watching and asking a great question. You have to have proper exit papers from one country to enter the next country or they won’t let you in.
