This is a really high end mall bro. If you want to buy electronic stuff, phone related stuff, go to imbi plaza, or lowyatt plaza. Pavilion is for Manhattanites 😁. PAUL is that funny alien guy who escaped the clutches of Sigourney weaver with the help of Simon pegg and Jason Bateman. 😅

Padang is a place in Indonesia. So Nasi Padang refer to the style of rice + dishes from that region. Malay dishes are regional. For example Malay dishes from the north like Kedah & Penang is different from dishes from the east coast (also north) like Kelantan & Terangganu etc. So Nasi Padang are Malay dishes from Padang (Malay here referring to the race, not nationality)

Ben, you better be careful bcoz their food is known for super spicy. Ask for the spicy level before you choose any menu at any Nasi Padang restaurant. @benfishermin
Lower grounds of a mall are usually where the food courts are, sometimes there's one on the top floors, sometimes hidden. You just gotta follow the staff or office worker crowds. There's usually also a 7-11 or a small convenience store near the parking lots for you to get water and other small things. Ground floors are for luxury brands, high street brands usually above. Home goods and electronics are on the top floors. I usually use the interactive directory screens to find and browse stores and they give you directions too. Hope this helps!

Spain and Peru are both weed friendly. Spain is super weed friendly. You could open up your own smoke club.. I would like to supply high grade indoor growing. Want to check out the electric prices in Valencia, Spain? Most weeds are growing outdoors. Some of those 28, 28 to 32% THC would be a welcome in the smoke clubs.
Peru is on my list to visit some time, I have a friend who lived there for years and never spent more than $1,000 per month. He did say the food is not great though, even though Peruvian food is good, same as Cuba the food in the actual country is not good and you can find way better Peruvian + Cuban food in USA for example

Explore Bukit Bintang area with LOT10 Mall near the mrt being like an almost fully japanese mall with Donki, Isetan and a Japanese food court at level 4 as well as a chinese food court at level LG

Not a huge mall, but has delicious food. You can do a vid on the malls in bukit bintang: starhill gallery, farenheit 88, low yat plaza, berjaya times square, sungei wang, lalaport bbcc
I love fashion and know “Max Mara”. It is an upscale Italian brand. Most high end are Italian.
Yea Italian stuff is great. I have some boots from Guidi which are probably the best I have, 100% horse leather 😁
im just completely stuck with Gen-X's '80-90s fashion staple stuff- Gap tees, Levis denims (or Dockers brown khakis) anytime. Sneakers, maybe some Nike or New Balance and im good to go. maybe some golf trucker-style caps, too - keep off those rain drops and scorching sunrays ✌️

If you want a different vibe of mall and vintage, you can go to Campbell complex near Jalan Dang Wangi. Nice walking path and on the weekend, you can find a lot of local malay streetfood in Jalan TAR street market

Don't buy a phone case in a mall. Go to night markets or Chinatown. Go to the Filipino mall by Chinatown. Very friendly Filipinos.

Can you eat hotpot? Cooking meats and veg in broth? Suki-ya in the Japanese row on the top floor is like $10 USD for AYCE (All You Can Eat). Unbelievable value. The food court is in the basement. I should watch the video before I comment, but this one is long and I gotta meet friends for dinner in 10 mins.😁

If your mobile phone is damaged, or you want to buy a new mobile phone, you should go to Plaza Low Yatt which is specialized for these items. You can find hand phones, tablets, laptops, drones and others it parts at a lower price compared to other outlets in Kuala Lumpur because there is a lot of competition. The location is located in Bukit Bintang, just behind Sungei Wang Plaza or in the middle between Berjaya Times Square and Jalan Alor Night Market.

If you would have simply indicated that you eat animal based food products ts do you think that would have been socially unacceptable in the US?
I am in Canada and I think k in certain circles people would not want to say they eat mostly animal products.

Yea I often go full carnivore and sometimes I'm flexible with a more keto style diet, when I don't have a kitchen. Carnivore is definitely the way though and makes me feel the best. Actually this is very socially accepted in the US, I definitely talked about it a lot, nobody sees it in a bad way other than feeling bad that I cannot eat carbs. It still messes with the social life because I didn't want to eat out at restaurants much, and can't drink alcohol. Even hardcore vegans are understanding since it's being done from a health standpoint, something I pretty much need to do to feel good. It didn't play into my decision to leave at all, it's actually far easier in the US to eat a carnivore diet, I was mostly eating beef and eggs, beef is readily available in the US but in Thailand it's difficult to actually get good beef at a reasonable price. Now in Malaysia there's more beef and lamb around, still not so cheap though.
Seriously, it's not my kind of place. I am a practical person and it bores me to the core 😅 I probably shop there once a year even if I have plenty to throw around.
I get that, I don't really shop in these kind of luxury stores, it was nice to walk around in but I won't really go very often, maybe if I lived very close by I'd occasionally walk around there or get some food.

My impression of these up end places...of course it's good for you to explore those places which I think not a place if you want to see "real" Malaysian and Malaysian stuff. It's good that one can see tourism in action but to see real Malaysian you could be deceived because people there mostly are living a whole different world in their mind there. I'm trying to be as polite... people may not like what I could say in bold. Actually you can see the same kind of place in any Asian countries where in such instances you get wrong impression of the real people.🤣 Again, don't think that I commented about you.... it's that place.🙏
I got super itchy at the back of my head hearing you keep asking where's the food court and where you can get a bottle of water. You walked past I think a couple of directories and if I'm not mistaken 3 security guards or mall policemen if you like. Gee... search the directory or just ask the guards Ben. Problem solved.
Yea that's what I did is ask someone, that's exactly how I got to the food court in this video (Food Republic). Maybe you missed this part.

If you have the budget I’d say Guidi makes amazing bags, it’s an Italian brand using 100% horse leather, it will last forever. On the cheaper end COS makes stylish bags

Yes, the same. Basement is the floor beneath the Ground Floor. We follow the British floor naming system; except the one in Nu Central Mall - which still confuse me.

You don't have to eat with your hands..you know that..right? You can get utensils from the counter. Usually in a non-fancy restaurant, those utensils are self collect. I don't eat with my hands except when eating KFC, unshelled Shrimps, Burger or Pizza.

Pavilion mall is old. You need to visit kl's newest coolest mall, TRX mall with a rooftop park. Just take the mrt subway to tun razak exchange station

Well I haven't found one yet which doesn't use sugar, even if it's not sweet they still use a good amount of sugar, I asked probably 15 different places and gave up since they all said it had sugar.

The best and fastest way to find any shop or food court is to ask the workers working in the shop lots there because all of them generally speaks English. That’ll save you a lot of unnecessary walking. Most of the malls I’ve been, the food court tends to be on the lowest level eg LG (lower ground). Lot 10 mall in that area is a good example of that

Returning from dinner...BASEMENT Ben, BASEMENT! The food court and less expensive restaurants are down. Most malls have food in the basement.

Ideal meal time in Malaysia - 11am - noon, 2.30pm - 4.30pm (avoid the lunch crowd, 4pm usually is Malaysian teatime for teh tarik!), dinner would be around 6.30pm onwards and supper time (the best!) from 11 pm onwards (soccer match time!)

Pavilion Mall has one of the best food courts in KL! It’s at the lower ground and it’s huge!!! So many choices you don’t know what to pick! Everything is good!

You definitely traveled. You were right about Vietnam. Their English really sucks. That is a challenging part, but their manufacturing is great and their condos and housing and food is the best anywhere. Best value for your money. Imagine making US Dollars there. That's what I'm going to try to do.
It's crazy what you can get in Hanoi or Da Nang for the money, number one reason I'd like to spend some time there.
If you need etectronic stuff, go to Low Yat Plaza..its an electronic mall nothing else. You'b be spoilt for choice.

yup.. looking forward to watch ‘the boy & the heron’ too… anything by Hayao Miyazaki is worth watching… nasi padang is an indonesian style dish… the one in malaysia n singapore tend not to hv the authentic style of presentation.. in jakarta.. all the dishes are displayed in a small plate or bowl.. they’ll serve u every dishes they hv.. n will charge u wat u take… it was named padang because that is the area where this style of rice dishes originated frm…

You can try “Chinese economy rice” at some Chinese restaurants or food court in the mall at a very decent price (depending on what dishes you choose). It’s buffet style. So, you don’t have to take the rice. Some dishes served without gluten or soy sauce. It serves throughout the day but fresh at 11am or 4pm.
Thanks, I am still weary about this since I don’t know what ingredients are in the food. I don’t think there are any dishes that don’t use sugar, soy, or gluten within Chinese style food
@@benfishermin Some Malaysian Chinese food has some curry, especially Nyonya food. Nyonya is the people of Malay-mixed Chinese descent (if you don’t know). They use less soy.

Lalaport Mall is nearby. It's a Japanese luxury mall. I prefer it over Pavilion.
Pavilion is an evil mall. One of Malaysia’s most cherished institutions, the Bukit Bintang Girls School, fell to make way for the mall. When some of the former students asked if the developers could at least retain the school’s arch, for nostalgia, their request was denied. Now nothing remains of the former school. Up till today, some of the former students still refuse to step foot inside Pavilion.
I stayed at an apartment for a couple of years at KL Plaza in the late 90's. Top floor, great view. Remember the school and thinking that developers would soon target that location. The real baddies were the site owners who could have insisted on the school being remembered as was wished for. Can't blame the developers for considering only their own interests.
There was a church or chapel too. I don’t know what happened to it.

Yea it never caught on for me personally, never tried wearing the clothes but I never had too much interest I guess. Unbranded is definitely preferrable!
Other good places to check out Lima Peru Spanish are much easier and Valencia Spain. They are both good for affordable living, but Barcelona has maybe too much crime.
I love Spain, particularly Barcelona but it's freaking expensive. Valencia is way cheaper but I'm not a huge fan, it's a bit boring and the culture not as interesting for me. In general though Spain as a whole is way way more expensive than Southeast Asia, and the visa is much more difficult anywhere in the Schengen zone since you can't just do a visa run, you need to stay out of the country for several months. Amazing place though, I'd live in Spain over Southeast Asia if I had the money and a visa.
Chinese food in Malaysia is still Malaysian, it's different from food that you'd find in China.

That's wild, must have been in the wrong areas, there's a really overwhelming amount of beautiful Chinese, Indonesian and Malay women here. There aren't so many Japanese, Korean or White women though.

Yea it's a bit much, I was really into clothes and accessories back then especially. Damn I should've just gotten Lasik! I know it wasn't possible when I asked my eye doctor many years ago, with an astigmatism, I do think it's possible now though

Many Japanese Foods are not as pricey as they normally are..but their quality is 👎bcos they are NOT using original Japanese recipes. They are modified to meet the Halal rule.
