I think in the modern day game too much emphasis is put on starting positions and roles - Trent is a defender but he's not in the team to defend its his ball playing ability. You haven't really looked at your optimal DGW25 team is.... I think you need to plan that, and then work backwards to your current team. If you can get to something like this, you'll be cooking: Pickford* TAA* Gabriel Myko* Salah(TC)* Palmer Bruno Diaz* Rogers Isak Ndiaye* That XI is probably maximising the doubles and isnt investing too heavily in Everton, but still gives you the upside. It's easy to then move on to the optimal front 8 which is set and forget from GW26 to the GW30 wildcard: Salah Palmer Bruno Mbeumo Semenyo Isak Cunha JPedro
Slot defended Trent after the Man U match (maintaining that he just had a difficult game against some great players), so I doubt he's planning to drop him from the starting eleven, but it's possible that Trent might start getting subbed around the 70-80 minute mark - good if you want the clean sheet, less so if you're hoping for a last-minute return

Apologies if this is a noob question: What’s the reasoning for targeting players in a DGW i.e., the EVE DGW coming up? In my head they’re going to play the same amount of games come end of season so why go out of your way to use transfers for these players playing twice in one game week?
It’s no so much just targeting for the sake of it but it’s the fact that Liverpool have two very good games in this GW and so triple captain tends to be your best bet here as opposed to any other week.
Because FPL is played week by week. You don't choose a team and leave it for 38 gameweeks. You try to maximise points based on fixtures. That said, I wouldn't go too heavy on Everton just for the sake of this double.
u get the points for 2 games in one gameweek. For example a lot of ppl will triple captain during a double gameweek because if salah gets 10 points v everton and 10 vs bournmouth, thats a 60 point triple captain whereas its less likely to get that high score during a single gameweek. Although it doesn't always work that way and double gameweeks usually disappoint

Trent v Bradley? Virgil has no replacement & will probably play 90 minutes in every game for the rest of the season. Less attacking threat, but Trent's attacking numbers are much lower this season. Konate may also be a reliable low cost alternative to Trent or Virgil.

IMO I think you have too much money in defence. You have 2 premiums I would have one of either Trent or Gabriel but not both. Reason I say that is because you have nearly 25% of your total budget in your back 4. Your Enzo is already my Gordon. I also have haaland who I plan to sell in the next 2 gw’s to free up funds so I can get Trent in mysen for liverpools double

You can either downgrade Cunha or Porro to free up funds then upgrade where you think is weakest,or keep money ITB ready for a possible Ass Man chip in GW 24/25.

Only change id make to your team is Robinson to First Sub. I Don't have much faith in Enzo getting anything against Bournemouth.

I think it’s use it or lose it…
If you don't play any of your chips before the end of the season, then you simply lose them. They won't automatically activate.
