I have the literary witches book and deck too, and I read Angela Carter’s Nights at the Circus last year and WOWZA was it GOOD. Haven’t read any of her other works yet.
@@SecondThoughtsAboutTheMission I’ve heard that but it was compared to Ulysses (also challenging but I’m enjoying it) so I couldn’t resist. Louise Penny is perfect for cozy reading on a snowed-in day, or when you need to experience characters who genuinely care about each other.
I love Ulysses too, as you probably know. A more contemporary work by David Mitchell has also been compared to Ulysses : Number 9 Dream, which I read and LOVED some years ago simply because my daughter picked it up in a book shop and insisted on it!!! Crazy!!! It’s drawn a bit of controversy (what hasn’t) because its written through the perspective of an Asian man, and the author is white, but damn is it gorgeous, and puzzling, which I like. He also wrote Cloud Atlas which I loved as well.
@@SecondThoughtsAboutTheMission Goodreads tells me I’ve read Cloud Atlas and seem to have liked it but I can’t remember it so I might have to reread it! I do have Slade House which I’m hoping to read this year sometime. I don’t think I’ve read any of his other books so far.
@@thebaileygrind I love them! It used to be Wuthering Heights but lately it’s been Jane Eyre, which I think I’ve read three times. I may reread Villette and Wildfell Hall sometime but I plan to reread Wuthering Heights during #gothlitnovember because it’s been about 15 years! I think I’ve read 2-3 biographies of their lives as well. They’re just fascinating to me. 💜
@@NicoleACottageWitch idk if it’s that one. The one I know of is in print I missed an opportunity to get it easily and now it’s not so. I’ll message you!!
Ah!! I can’t believe you found that Nabokov book! I’ve looked for it too!
I would love to read thru literary witches oracle !!! Getting this book
Rubys mug!!!! 🥲
Ha! You mentioned Scrabble: My daughter and are in the middle of a game right now. Our favorite game! 😊❤
@@SecondThoughtsAboutTheMission excellent! It’s too slow-paced for most of my family.

@@SecondThoughtsAboutTheMission I’ll have to look that one up!
Gravity’s Rainbow is supposed to be super challenging. I’m so curious! 👀 I think I should look up the Louise Penny books, they sound like fun!

@@NicoleACottageWitch 😂😂😂 that’s too funny you can’t recall! It happens though. Cloud Atlas is amazing and I should re-read it too.
The construction noise sounds like a horror film or video game
@@RoseHoneyRitual 😂 they’re relentless too!
I need to reread Unbearable Lightness too
@@RoseHoneyRitual I should reread it. I remember being absolutely blown away by it, but that was almost 20 years ago!
Omg I want to know what you think of the brontes! Which is your fave book?

Do you know about the opera tarot??
@@RoseHoneyRitual the Italian one? I’ve heard of it but as far as I can tell, it’s out of print. 😢
