  • Hey everyone, here's a re-edited version of a video I did many years ago!
    Similar to the video I did on Sam Mendes' 1917 film, this movie had many of the same techniques to help mask cuts between takes. Again, this is my personal opinion - I could very well be wrong for many of them.
    These cuts are done for a lot of reasons like: changing lenses, batteries, going for steadicam to a jib or crane or dolly - or perhaps the editor/director liked certain takes better than others so they needed to find ways to cut them together.
    I love Birdman, I think it represents an age of cinema where originality was still happening, and I think the film deserved all the acclaim it got.
    Either way, let me know if you disagree - and point out maybe cuts that I missed - but as an editor, these are the 'cuts' I caught.
    I did bypass some for obvious reasons as they were more intentional.
