- This is a Video of our kolkata to siliguri by car road trip that we took during our recent South India to Northeast India road trip. It took us almost 15 hours to cover the approximate distance of 700 kilometers.

The bridge you are crossing at 25:15 time is called farakka barrage. It's just before the Malda Town. The Farakka barrage is used to control the water flow of Ganges between India and Bangladesh. I like yours video too much. inspiring myself for road trips.

The bridge you are crossing to reach Dankuni is called Bali Bridge.

@@Bharatghumo09 It's expected , it's not that popular. Most interesting fact of this bridge is in one side famous Dakshineswar Temple and opposite side the Headquarter of Ramkrishna Mishon, known as Belure Math. There are boat ride between those two famous religious place of Bengal.

Hey May i know why did you choose road via orissa and kolkata if you are going to siliguri only without doing much activity in between. As you can go via nagpur and patna route also right.

I took it as I wanted to Pass Calcutta and Cover West Bengal During Durga Pooja. While returning I took the Nagpur-Jabalpur-Varanashi route. That blog will be coming up in a few days. Personally, in terms of Time and Road conditions the Nagpur-Jabalpur-Varanashi route is better. i wanted to explore so i took both the routes

@@wandererRk i already returned last week and i took the route via varanashi-jabalpur-nagpur to return to hyderabad but will definitely try the route you gave next time i am going kolkota to siliguri
