After many frustrating attempts, here's how I did it:
I used the Mig-31B and applied all my available speed/acceleration parts. (Lvl 1 Blisk and Queen's Custom) The Mig-31B is one of the fastest stock planes in the game, if not THE fastest.
Equip the LAAMs.
Once the mission starts, expand your map so that you can see the entire area of operation. Start attacking targets as normal, but keep an eye on the timer. Once the timer is at about 14 minutes, start heading east towards the general direction the bombers come from.
Approach at a high altitude. Somewhere close to the absolute ceiling. You don't want the bomber's escorts above you when they spawn. Try to linger around in a spot BEHIND and ABOVE where the bombers will spawn.
Once the bombers spawn around the 13 min mark, switch to your LAAMs and start identifying targets. Holding the triangle button when you have a lock-on doesn't require you to keep your nose pointed at your target when identifying them.
Ignore the bomber's escorts and focus on identifying the bombers. The bombers will be flying in a straight path at a constant speed. Keep that in mind to save you time when picking a target to approach.
The Mig 31 and LAAM combo is key because you can identify a bomber on one side of the map, quickly fly to and identify another one on the opposite side. Then you can use your LAAMs to take long shots at them once they're identified. The LAAMs also only require two hits vs the standard missile which is three hits I believe.

Using the first person view, not cockpit view, and hold Y, it zooms in on targets and identifies it quicker. It should identify when your under 2500 meters from it

IF YOU WANT TO PASS THIS MISSION and are not worried about points, use
LAAM's. I used the F14. After destroying the first few targets, circle
the island at 3000-4000 until the bombers come. You see them by using
the medium radar that has the full red square. Use the long range LAAM's
and shoot them down immediately without identifying. Go back to the
island and destroy all targets. Near the last part, the timer is fast.
Circle around and attack targets from the end, they are in a straight
line.
What parts did you use?

I have the same problem .i cant identified the bombers plus as always COUNT and the others cant manage to keep the Migs off my back. So i dont have time to identify the 1000s of targets on my mini screen.😤😤😤😤
The time limit for saving the people is bs less than a minute? Come on i can understand a minute fifteen seconds but less than a minute? What were they on
I got it now I was going after wrong targets lol.
How is it that the câmera keeps in position and the plane sway left and right, and stuff?
Is it not on keyboard/joystick, but on these thrustmaster kinda thing?

Im trying to beat this level , And i have the difficulty on casual easy , And cant beat it, How sad.
I had to restart from checkpoint many times before I finally cleared this. I did this with the Raven with QAAM. Having two sets of AA missiles allows me to quickly switch and fire again at the bombers and also the transports at the end of the mission. Just take out as many planes and SAM as possible in the beginning. Head up to meet the bombers even before they spawn. You should know where they are coming from by now. Ignore all other escorts until you got all the bombers. The next bottle neck is the one with the girl and the yellow flare. Approach and fly at minimum speed so you can hit as many target as possible in one pass. Then as soon as you see the red markers on the map, they are the last two transports (after the cut scene). Chase them at max speed and fire 2 sets of missiles each. You should be able to clear them quickly. Hope this helps with anyone who is still trying to clear the mission.

How are you I'd then so fast and why the bombers keep reaching island makes no sense.
I don't know how people can play/fly from " outside " of plane ..... because I can't .... ;)
Im shooti g down p,anes without any problems ,but missions faild for the last time now.i tried 20 times and dont know why i dont win if i dont loose
This mission could have been broken into 3 pieces. The missions in this game are way to long. Plan for one a/c then thinking you are done and here comes another with a completely different need of weapons. BS!

@rob13589 I do enjoy the series but just some of these missions are ridiculous.
this tells me nothing, like most of the walk throughs. Where will the bombers spawn? What's the best strategy for them? Planes etc? WTF
From what I saw here once they tell you they are coming from the East pull up your long range radar and follow the tick marks until they show on screen. Kind of like flying back to Liberty City way back in the day... :)
