- This is my review of the XHDATA D-808 World Band Synthesized Receiver. I bought it for $96.00 plus tax and shipping at Amazon.

Please note that I made a couple of mistakes in the review. I gave the wrong call letters for the 104.7 FM translator in New York City, which is W284BW. The station on 132.850 MHz is the Automatic Terminal Information Service (ATIS) from Teterboro Airport, which is different from the Air Traffic Control heard on other frequencies. - บันเทิง

I just got mine and am really struggling with it. The last radio I bought was my Yaesu Ft900 CAT.
I will be glad to learn how to type in frequencies.

I have this same radio and use it constantly. It is the stand-by radio as far as I’m concerned. It’s MW section is awesome. Great selection of bandwidths as well. Beautiful headphones experience. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Thank you. I just wish XHDATA (Sihuadon) would do something to fixed the popping on headphones when changing bands. My Radiwow R-108 has that same problem. Otherwise, it's a great radio.
@@tvradio1972 my new black sihuadon 808 does not pop on band changes! dunno if that’s on all of them but very happy. Just got it in the mail today.
@@radellaf You might have the new version. Does yours have the USB-C or the Micro USB port? Mine has the Micro USB port.

Brilliant little set that can be bought for peanuts, only downside it that this set will not scan the ham bands.

You're welcome. They are getting a great receiver even with the flaws when listening on headphones at low levels. It has great reception that's almost on par with the Eton Elite Executive.
@@tvradio1972 I have the Executive too and I agree with you. Be careful of the D808's telescopic aerial. It has a tendency to be become loose from its mounting within the case. I usually carry a Phillips screwdriver with me when I travel with it!

Just picked one up. It would be 10/10 for me if it had weather band.
the weather is transmitted via local stations in practically every country in the world, the weather band is old hat and antiquated, never been in a country that still relies on a weather band other than the USA.

Missing front end filters in USB-C ones, not sure of the effect on FM bleed over to SW

There are still SW stations left. It's mostly outside the U.S. although some exist there like WWV, WBCQ, WRMI, and WWCR, just to name a few. You can also receive stations from other countries depending on shortwave propagation conditions.
Yes there's some shortwave radio stations! Me and Mike have videos about shortwave radio!
There are still plenty of religious radio stations trying to sell you their shit

the LW of this radio is weak ive heard.
But anyway, LW seems to be going obsolete now.

I've seen reviews of the D-109, and they are mixed. Some of them tend to have overload issues if you live near strong MW stations. I might pass on buying that one.
the only fault with these radios is that they will only scam to a max of 26 Mhz on short wave, 26-30Mhz can only be tuned manually.
yeah that’s a pain for ham band scanning, and true of all the ham bands on this one. For looking for SW stations, tho, it’s kinda nice to just scan the SW bands.
