I have this same radio and use it constantly. It is the stand-by radio as far as I’m concerned. It’s MW section is awesome. Great selection of bandwidths as well. Beautiful headphones experience. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Thank you. I just wish XHDATA (Sihuadon) would do something to fixed the popping on headphones when changing bands. My Radiwow R-108 has that same problem. Otherwise, it's a great radio.
the weather is transmitted via local stations in practically every country in the world, the weather band is old hat and antiquated, never been in a country that still relies on a weather band other than the USA.
THATS AN amazing raddio hope u enjoying sw and mw and fm :) one of the best radio its the TOP 1 radio in the market even better than sony and sangean and others old brands that stops production ! greeting from italy
Привет! Стоит такой d-808 сегодня со всеми скидками 5600 рублей (70$)., какой лучше купить за эти деньги или меньшие, в лес, в тайгу, в Якутию, так иногда время скоротать, покрутить...
You're welcome. They are getting a great receiver even with the flaws when listening on headphones at low levels. It has great reception that's almost on par with the Eton Elite Executive.
@@tvradio1972 I have the Executive too and I agree with you. Be careful of the D808's telescopic aerial. It has a tendency to be become loose from its mounting within the case. I usually carry a Phillips screwdriver with me when I travel with it!

The XHDATA D-808 sounds pretty good. The Radiwow R-108, now known as the Sihuadon R-108, has great audio. Thank you for watching and have a good weekend.
Hi, friend ! Thank you very much for such a good review and detailed answer. differences between these receivers. I want to order the same receiver of the new version. to your collection. There is tecsun pl660 and tecsun pl330. I think the xhdata d-808 will perform well in field conditions, just like the tecsun pl660. Thank you very much for your review. definitely a like from me. I'll have time to wait for you on my channel. 73!
There are still SW stations left. It's mostly outside the U.S. although some exist there like WWV, WBCQ, WRMI, and WWCR, just to name a few. You can also receive stations from other countries depending on shortwave propagation conditions.
I've seen reviews of the D-109, and they are mixed. Some of them tend to have overload issues if you live near strong MW stations. I might pass on buying that one.
yeah that’s a pain for ham band scanning, and true of all the ham bands on this one. For looking for SW stations, tho, it’s kinda nice to just scan the SW bands.
@tvradio1972 you gave a detailed and comprehensive breakdown of this value for money radio which 99.9% of us appreciate. Then pops up a single celled omoeba that can only criticise. How pathetic. Greetings from outback Australia, just purchased this radio yesterday and subscribed to your channel 😊
by far the most in depth review and operation of this radio. You earned a new subscriber. Thank you for the very informative review
Welcome aboard, and thank you for subscribing. Have a good weekend.

@@tvradio1972 my new black sihuadon 808 does not pop on band changes! dunno if that’s on all of them but very happy. Just got it in the mail today.
@@radellaf You might have the new version. Does yours have the USB-C or the Micro USB port? Mine has the Micro USB port.
@@tvradio1972 It must be new, C port and just bought it
@@radellaf Yes, it's the new version. Mine is an older one.
I just got mine and am really struggling with it. The last radio I bought was my Yaesu Ft900 CAT.
I will be glad to learn how to type in frequencies.
I got the same shortwave antenna you have the an-80.
Привет из Якутии🤝🐻У меня есть d-808. Я не могу понять, что означает слово Timer на дисплее, и как его убрать?
27:31 I've received noise like that on shortwave what does that mean?
Just picked one up. It would be 10/10 for me if it had weather band.

At 27:00 is Radio Exterior de España talking about damn football 😊
Thank you for this. It's a favourite of mine too. It's the radio I recommend to newbies to Dxing It's light weight means it's good for travelling .

Missing front end filters in USB-C ones, not sure of the effect on FM bleed over to SW

Which portable has a good sounding speaker? I did not like the DX286 SQ. Muddy sounding.

I like this XHDATA Radio when I have money I'll buy this radio to replace my HanRongDa!
Cool!
Could this be better than Sony 7600GR ?
I don't know. I don't have that radio.
Brilliant little set that can be bought for peanuts, only downside it that this set will not scan the ham bands.
it's on Amazon now for $109 USD NOV 2024
the LW of this radio is weak ive heard.
But anyway, LW seems to be going obsolete now.
I have received non-directional beacons from Canada on Longwave, but not with this radio. Have a Merry Christmas.
@@tvradio1972 merry Christmas to you too.
there are no more short-wave stations. forty years ago there were hundreds

Yes there's some shortwave radio stations! Me and Mike have videos about shortwave radio!
There are still plenty of religious radio stations trying to sell you their shit
120 stations still
And what's your antenna setup?

the only fault with these radios is that they will only scam to a max of 26 Mhz on short wave, 26-30Mhz can only be tuned manually.
