Hoeksche Waard is a 'nationaal landschap'. It is uniek because of the Binnenmaas(a lake), Creeks, Polders, and rivers like: Haringvliet, Spui, Oude Maas.
Some villages in the Hoeksche Waard are: Oud Beijerland, Strijen, Westmaas, Mijnsherenland, Goudswaard, Sint anthoniePolder, and Westmaas.

De Hoeksche Waard is een Nationaal Landschap. Dat is heel bijzonder. Nederland telt in totaal twintig Nationale Landschappen. Ze zijn allemaal bijzonder om hun combinatie van natuur en cultuurhistorische elementen. Het landschap in de Hoeksche Waard, met zijn openheid, beboomde dijken en historische panden, wordt gekoesterd. Nieuwe ontwikkelingen moeten passen in het Nationaal Landschap, zodat de speciaal benoemde kernwaarden behouden blijven. Tegelijkertijd wordt het Nationaal Landschap beleefbaar gemaakt. Wandelroutes, fiets- en kanoroutes, musea, natuurbezoekerscentra, theetuinen, bed and breakfasts en nog veel meer voorzieningen maken dat ook jij in de Hoeksche Waard verslingerd kunt raken aan het Nationaal Landschap.
