    Notes:
    As many pictures as possible; In progress photos
    Scan everything
    List that show all of the works in the documents/pictures and what you did [show, date, what i did, what documents i had of that production] (resume pretty much)
    Most impressive to least, most work you did, most relevant to least relevant, or by time
    Descriptors along with the photos
    Include a link or QR code to the video
    Project/Production name & year & your role
    Not finished product, the process
    Any weird projects you've done on your own "Other artistic examples"
    Other artistic interests you have (painting)
    Fonts that are professional like futura, helvetica,
    Balance between blank space and filled space (don't make photos/fonts too big. nothing too big)
    Fit images that make sense together
    Finished photos after you've already explained the process
    In captions, explain the context of the photo so you understand what's going on (like in the artistic interests)\
    Thank you for actually providing information on this. I was so lost. Means a lot to the techies.

    THANK YOU! This video was so helpful! I couldn't find theatre portfolio examples anywhere until this video! I'm really happy with the product I made with your help. Hopefully, I'll get the apprenticeship I applied for!

      Glad it was helpful! When I was doing portfolios I couldn't find ANYTHING, so I thought I'd share the experience. Best of luck on your apprenticeship!

    I’m working on my portfolio now but I have very limited tech theatre experience since I’ve been an actor until this year (my senior year of hs) how do I make up for a lack of material, and should I put pictures of my acting experience just to add something else, or do I not mention it at all?

      Go for it! Let me know if there's any other topic you'd be interested in having videos on.

    If I just build set models on a building software I had can I include those? It's something called Roblox Studios but I like to build set designs and pieces for fun! I never turned them into physical models they were just fun little projects to work on.

    When putting together a portfolio, I'd like to know the rule when it comes to using stage photos of a production that I'd worked on, but taken by someone else, say a professional photographer hired by the theater company? Would crediting them be enough?

      You can totally include professional photos/ones not taken by you. Just include a credit to the photographer under the photos.

    Hey man, thanks so much for this. I'm applying for stage management and production majors this following year. It might be a lot to ask but if it's possible would you be willing to post a PDF of this portfolio for closer examination? Thanks so much again!

      No problem, I wish you the best of luck. And yes, I made a public link to the PDF. All I ask is that you don't copy my design and layout exactly, maky yours unique! Hope this is helpful.

    So let’s say I never was working on the scenes but you were in the show acting. But you want to go into theatre design and technology and have to submit a portfolio but don’t have pictures or anything. What would you do?

    • @ethancraig1619
      @ethancraig1619  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, you really can't make a portfolio without any work to show. However, there are lots of programs that don't require a portfolio or lots of prior experience. These programs are usually going to be more general BA programs instead of more specialized BFA's, but you will definately still learn tons of marketable and useful skills.

    can I put videos on it?

    • @ethancraig1619
      @ethancraig1619  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You definitely can! Any media that showcases your work can be included. Just keep in mind that many schools prefer a printed portfolio (should say on their website when applying), so you may want to include a link or QR code to the video if you have any printed versions.
