I've watched many KNF process videos here on TH-cam. Finding this one most complete with clear, precise details, and easy to understand. Great audio quality. nice work man.
This is actually my third time coming back to watch this video once again, I like to rewatch videos and reread papers in order to obtain more information from them often times you learn so much on a daily and weekly basis that when you come back to something it may make more sense or give you an idea in order to Not only help yourself as a natural farmer but help the community to continue to grow and thrive and build out different ways of doing things different fermentation process and different end results. Because that’s the beauty of natural farming is that there is no end to it it’s just an Engine that you’re putting inputs into and seeing what the results are. Excellent work I love how you really try to find new ways to work with natural farming!
@@TheSturdy1 I’ve heard many say to use cedar as well. What they don’t realize is this all stems from the using “cedar” as it’s called in eastern countries but in the west we would call it a pine. Siberian cedar for example is a Siberian pine. It’s specifically western red cedar that I would not use personally, I also believe redwoods are similar for their rot resistance.
Great video really appreciate the clear information. I've been through Chris Trumps Certification class. This summer '23 I made and processed all the IMOs here in N. IL. My results were graded from me as "Meh", could do better, but wanted to go through all processes. I'd like to know if you've done the IMO4 Healing treatment. I tried but couldn't get my temps to go beyond 118° with pile hieght 18" high, may have had the ratios wrong. But was excited, curious and learned a lot. Please keep pushing out your videos sharing your experinces. We're watching 🤓. On a funny note my dogs joined me everytime I mixed the pile and would eat from the pile, soon enough their poop was blooming on the lawn, think I invented IMO6 😉🤣
That is correct, and not just Austin that’s very common all over. However, if you can bury your box within the top 6” layer and completely cover it w/ leaves your chances of an “A” collection are better.
@@postupmedia ya true- I have cultured IMO on many grains including quinoa, millet, oats, and barley, as well as acorn meal, so rice isn’t mandatory at all just the traditional way from Asia. Sushi rice in bulk is really the same price for me compared to others.

I like where your headed with this... Master Cho himself said his natural farming "system" was not yet finished.. I love the idea of mashing up KNF and biodynamic..

thank you, i'm glad your finding value in the content. I'm always working to better my process and video quality.
Agreed
I have done Jadam for about 3 years and want to learn some KNF. Your video here is so much more easy to understand than a lot of the others. Thanks.
He's the best teacher

Great video Preston !
Great coverage of the topic.
Your the first person to mention avoiding rot resistant lumber when making these boxes which seems like a massive thing.
It’s also a given.
@@forthosewhoHUNGER some people don’t know that western red cedar and redwoods for example are quite rot resistant
@@nastytechniquez9685some people reccomend the cedar so your box doesn’t have mold but your rice dies

Boxes are easy to make, you can use untreated wicker baskets, even cutting up pallets would work if its unttreated wood
really cool man. been doing natural farming in central brazil and love the personal insights and feedback that you bring. thank you very much
Can you use brown rice ? I have brown sushi rice only and regular white rice
Nice friend
Thank you for the great video. If I understood you correctly, you stated not to use anything with cedar? I have quite a few cigar boxes.
My friend you’ve won my heart with your delivery of growing information 🤟🏽🍄👁️🤍
Awesome video your passion really shines through
Very informative video. Keep making more videos please

Nice!
Great detail. Thanx..!!
Love your videos
You have a Joshua Tree beanie. I'm about 15 min from there in Landers. :-) trying to learn to KNF in the desert.
Excellent! Yes I love that area.. natural farming can be adapted to any environment.
Nice. Why don't you put some clumps of soil and dust directly in the box, in contact to the rice.
çünkü bu tür eylemler uyduruktur. :)
Riseapuss had an off putting taste at first, but I got used to it. My wife loved it though.
Look for thick layers of organic material. In Austin oak leaves can take 2-3 years to break down and you still capture local organisms to make IMO 1.

How much liquid should be in my container after the IMO 1 has been sitting in the sugar. I keep seeing pictures of IMO2 and it looks fry.
Ty
what has given you the best results IMO with the RICE or with JMS ???
Any plans for an IMO 3 (or 4) video? GREAT detail and explanations so far. Thanx..!!
Its good now
Can i apply molasses instead of brown sugar? Brown sugar is very expensive here
Some say it works slightly differently but you Can supplement With some extra White sugar. They absolutely both work
Medium Grain rice works great and is more cost effective, no need to buy sushi rose or cal ropse or any of that. Just wash it good
