Can you service a portable AC? (The stand up kind that you hook a vent hose through a window for). Mine is a Kool King mobile type air conditioner, 1340 watts. I've had it for several years. Last year, even though regularly cleaning the filter, it would sometimes blow out powdery stuff into the air. It needs cleaned internally and I have heard that you cannot service these kind.
Unfortunately you can not service them. You can clean the filters though. That is the best you can do. Regularly clean those filters out throughout the season. You can clean those out on the old one and let them dry out completely. See if that helps. They can be very good units if you keep them clean. If it doesn't help, and you end up investing in a new one, just remember to keep those filters clean often!
