I share a similar story, I also started with Bcom Financial Accounting, I failed hard lol. Switched to BSC Computer Science, unfortunately I had to drop out because of Financial difficulties in my third year, I worked odd jobs, and then got a learnership and landed a job in Telecommunications but sadly I got retrenched earlier this year, so i decided to go back my roots in terms of coding and now I am freelancing, I landed my first client in July, so I'm pushing that and one day I will build my own systems
Accounting did me dirty, failed accounting 2 and left it, and picked up Information System as a major with Management, and now I am a Senior Data Scientist. I have never been so proud of failing in life😅 because right now, i am so happy there by the data world
I can point out a thing or two about Vusi. He is very sharp minded and yet so chilled. Even how he explained his journey, it sounds so far fetched but you can tell once he put his mind into something, he ensures to excute to the best of his ability, from Bcom at Udaps till now you can tell his in spirit that he always wanted to do more. Lastly his eloquence is second to none which is a big part in selling yourself to potential employers sometimes more important that your technical skills which you can always improve. I am inspired and well done chap🙌
I went to school with him... Unfortunately he failed the 11th grade he used to tell me he wished he went down the same career path as me because he wasn't happy at that time funny how I am looking for a job still and he turned things around for himself
I have story similar to his, except that I am still yet to realise my dream job. How can one get in touch with this gentleman? Interesting episode, so inspiring.
Please ask what platform did they use to host there functional websites and what project did they do, while they were applying for internships or jobs. can they also share a link to there projects.
@rogerndlangamandla5057 There is a variety of platforms, Free Code Camp is one of them, and there is a link on the description box or just Google it but I'll get him to respond as well .
IBM and Meta offer really good course about programming. I'm a ux designer but I am also considering studying front end with IBM. I think coursera is a really good place for someone who have have little to no clue. There's financial aid with 90% chances for approval. Also, there's ADPlist which offers mentorship for free. I think people can capitalise on that before making any decision of learning a tech skill because mentorship gives perspectives and the mentors are quite experienced working for FAANG companies. It's worth giving a try!
My questions to vusi is what was he learning about what languages did he choose and type of projects he built there when he was using free code camp to study
Hi, i was more focussed on understanding the basics basics so i took the front end option. freecode camp has projects that you can work on depending on wthich stream you take so i worked on the once under front end stream.
I am looking for people who are into cybersecurity/ethical hacking/bug bounty hunting. I am currently learning and it would be nice to hear from others who have been in this field for some time
@fionasmith6686 Hi Fiona, please email me your details, and I'll have a look at it, but the system is safe, and it shouldn't have any problems. Most people were able to use it.

Sis Boni, please ask him. What coding languages one needs to learn and which online platforms provide lessons.?
@rogerndlangamandla5057 There is a variety of platforms, Free Code Camp is one of them, and there is a link on the description box or just Google it but I'll get him to respond as well .
learn javascript using freecodecamp. because it is more versatile and can be used to develop websites, web apps and mobile applications.
