Glad to see Big Phil on the show. I had a strong feeling when CBS moved on from Big Phil that we would be hearing from and seeing him here a lot more often. It's sad that more people want to see Pat McAfee types rather than listen to people talk pure football.

That said, what TV cameras did not pick up was that Eli has a big personality and a different leadership style than Peyton had. Obviously we know that now. I just don’t see that the in Jones. Plus, Eli was always available and on the field.

Vick had one of his best games against the Steelers in his whole Falcons career as passer. IT is not about Vick, and his big failures as person, but he was right, that Vick can be a good NFL Quarterback. He proved it years later, if he changed his personality. Phil is not throwing persons under the bus. That is very very easy. He is a believer, he give his opinion what the person has to change, to use his potential. And so he is right again. Daniel Jones had one game of "Aura" in Jacksonville, when he yelled on Collin Johnson.

Giants had Dallas, SF, Miami, Buffalo four of first six games.. It was a tough schedule. Most of all DJ only played 5 games & with the contract Giants have no choice but to bring him back.
DJ is not a top tier QB but believe he can be really good. He can make every throw, good runner but team has been unstable and without a lot of talent.
Dan Jones is on the Phil Simms 6 free years of injuries/terrible but Simms had the luxury of playing with the best defensive team i also rate Eli above Simms because Eli did more with less no number 1 defense on the Eli teams that's for sure
He does need to go. Sure multiple coaches, bad O line, injury, etc... But by year 6 he should look like a QB1 and he doesn't he should have looked like QB1 by year 3. The giants are just going to keep him for the year free up 50 million in cap at the end of the year. They tried to see if they could get Jayden Daniels with a trade up in the draft none of the other QB's were lucrative enough and no one above 4th was willing to move back in the draft. If they have a good year then great won't secure his job.
The problem with the Giants is the same problem they’ve had for 12 years. The offensive line. If the offensive line plays well they have a chance to do really well. If they don’t, they will be one of the worst teams in the NFL.
Phil is someone who can relate to DJ's situation. If he had played in this era he would never gotten to show what he was capable of. No one has any patience today.
