Not that ph.Ds aren’t important but how long do you think it takes to become a doctor?!… after XII, 5 and a half years of MBBS. 6 months to 1 year of PG preparation. 3 years of post graduation. Another 3 years of super speciality. All this just to start ur medical career. 13 YEARS…JUST to finish our education. Almost 3-5 years of practice to make a name for yourself and start making the money that an engineer makes after studying for just 4-7 years. You can appreciate all the professionals in the society but I request you to NOT compare the struggles that a doctor goes through before becoming what he/she is and what you see.
Not a single comment is about demeaning a doctor but your comment is about highlighting the job of the doctor again by slightly pushing the other professions aside by saying "DON'T compare. " Everyone feels like they suffer the most. Just so you know, we spend 3 yrs for graduation, 2 yrs for post graduation, 5-7 yrs to complete phD (in India with zero dignity and self respect calculated in minus. We hardly get paid and in most parts of our country we are treated as slaves) , 2-3 yrs for post doctorate and still have no job and zero respect in the society. We are not even considered real doctors though every medicine you prescribe was once designed by a professional of our field. Again we are not even talking about the number of drop years we spare for the preparation of NET, GATE, GRE etc. We respect you but you feel your struggle is the most, so you tend to forget the others. This is the only concern we are trying to put forward.

My brother studied medicine for 15 years before he got a full-time job as a doctor. For (good and those who want to be good doctors) next 10-15 years after 18 is again a very crucial stage of their life. They dont have lesiure time to spend on partying. I am not saying they dont but the fact that doctors party more than engineers is a myth. No doctor (or engineer) who spend their college life partying doesnt deserve to be called one.

@@ahkamusmani458 I dont understand your question but from my understanding you are trying to say that you want to become a doctor for fame and money. If so please dont become a doctor. Be a doctor to help people. so if you are looking only for money and fame the occupation of a doctor is not for you. Plus its true if you have a family with a background of doctors it will be easier for you to get into private medical colleges. Note that in gov med colleges no one cares who your parents are. Plus in priv. colleges the cost is beyond our dreams. So being from a family of doctors doesnt help in one's success in becoming one. You should study hard and try to crack NEET with a good score to be able to study in a good gov med college. So even if you are from a family of doctors, wont help much. Everything depends on how well you study.

They usually go to party and the doctors just study and nothing else is a myth. My seniors who lived their college life to the fullest are now doing PGs in their dream branches.

I am studying engineering but l have huge respect for doctors. Come on guys, can u imagine what would've happened if there were no doctors? When you are sick, it doesn't matter whether you live in a 5 million dollar home. Health is the most important thing and doctors are the people who have that power. The are literally human gods. And yes, human bodies are really the most complex structures of the world. Nothing can even come close. I am trying to take human anatomy cours out of interest and l have realized how difficult it really is.

A pertinent point was raised in this video an engineer can choose a career much different than her/his education. But you rarely find a doctor ending up with an atypical career visa vis his academic specialization.
