Cuando murió Franco el 1975 tuve esperanzas de que aquí hicieran lo mismo, pero por desgracia el maldito Franco lo dejo todo atado y bien atado, por eso España es una pseudo democracia donde los fascistas siguen teniendo una presencia más que notable en todos los ámbitos!!

what I love about this video is that Maestro Josep seems so at ease - normally when he sings, he looks worried that he is not good enough and when finished he leaves the stage at 100 kph -even though his performance is always 100% from the heart and absolutely fantastic...in this video, in his own language, and with another Catalan maestro, he seems so happy and relaxed. Many thanks for posting it and if you have anymore of this concert it would be great(as buying the CD seems almost impossible)

It's about freedom. Portugal had just lived the 'Revolution of the carnations ', in 1974, when the song was written. Unfortunately, Catalonia is still colonised and oppressed by Spain. No media ever talks about it. The Spanish state is an octopus of publicity tentacles. The tv channels and newspapers live on publicity worldwide. Next time you listen about the 'beauties of Spain ' on cnn or nbc, you canbe sure that what they are doing in Catalonia will not be in the 8 pm news.

@bravocarreras The other singer is Luis Llach, a very famous catalan artist (see on youtube, many links)
The song is about the "portuguese revolution", and the lyrics are very moving ! you can find them only in spanish, and sometimes in french, but rarely in english...
Wonderful to see Carreras embracing his catalan origins, like Montserrat always did...

One can't imagine the pleasure unless you come from a minority language group (and 12 million speakers is NOT a minority) Visca Catalunya!! The Catalans pay taxes to keep Spain afloat.

Eu tive a expectativa de que o nome da canção se referia à nossa revolução de Abril, que estamos a festejar dentro de dias mas estava um pouco confusa. Afinal é mesmo sobre a nossa revolução dos CRAVOS. Queira Deus que outros sigam o nosso exemplo com pacifismo e alegria.
Sim. A mais bela música sobre a Revolução portuguesa é catalã. Que um dia possam também, na Catalunha, celebrar a Liberdade.
