Hi, Sam. Wow! what a great experience. Good to see Udo there who was one of the adidas team who hosted retailers from all over Europe at the Gothenburg World athletics champs. I bought my first adi spikes in 1964. Light blue with the 3 stripes of course. Ran my 2;25 marathon (with Grete Waitz) wearing the maroon Oregon (Dellinger web) She wore the same! Adidas became a key brand for road and trail when I opened The Complete Runner in 1982 but as you may know a few years ago adidas like Nike decided to trade essentially "direct to customer" However they did set up an official third party so we can still trade the brand but with our middle of the road runners way down in popularity compared to Asics, Saucony and even 361! Best wishes, Terry Lonergan.
Great video, when I started running in the late 70's I was always think of the Czech runner Emil Zatopek because he was called the Czech locomotive because he was breathing so hard and painfully.. So staring to run as a 35kg overweight teenager thinking of him really gave me motivation. I also run (later) in my Marathon Trainer he has on the table ❤.
2:03:59 in 2008.. Now with all the special training.. Altitude.. VO2 max meters.. Lactate test.. We are just 2 minutes faster on a good day.. Looks like in real terms we are getting slower.
