It's Deeply Disturbing & Beyond Belief that in the 21st Century 194 Nations, The UN, the World Courts & institutions are Inept to STOP a Genocide. One tiny pinprick on the Map of the World, Yet No-One can Stop its Evil. The Excuse ... isreal has the backing of the US, is a Weak Excuse bcs the US is also Held Hostage by zionism. If Nations stand together, if ALL Nations Apply SANCTIONS NOW, EXPEL ALL isreali Diplomats and Trade missions NOW, close their Air space to isreal Now and Stand Up to the US, they will also RESCUE it from the clutches of isreal's Evil.
      Justice MUST prevail.

Fascinating, Real Warriors.Staunch opponent of Injustice in all its Heinous shapes or forms.Great Ethics.Just Humane and Sincere.Very rare leader who struggles to rid the world of its Evils,Evils perpetrated by such as the Zionists at the present time, but once the repugnant and obscene Apartheid system in South Africa.
This is a Model to the planet Earth to follow, not people like Netanyahu,Biden,Trump,Starmer etc etc.
The best to you Dr Pandor because you feel the pains of others and you fight for their liberation from the Zionistic Oppression of the Israel Regime.

1:06:44 her shock at Blair’s support for Iraq war, double standards and the hypocrisy of the west has been the same for so many and “correcting” our countries is a monumental task. In many ways, it all of us suffering the absence of justice and the consequences of humanities endless wars which (because of their inevitability) may have to be our painful, irrefutable teacher. Such a shame! And how ironic that descendants of a holocaust are doing far worse in their quest for security. The so called ‘security dilemma’ coupled with mankind’s imagined separation and superiority to Nature are still so prevalent and discounted as the main source for our intractable problems.

Good, interesting talk. Where she emphasises that you have to be very careful to protect civilians during any armed struggle, she seems to be implying the resistance shouldn’t have taken the action they did. That’s true about protecting civilians as much as you can, obviously. But they were trapped in that tiny, densely-populated, sealed-in space, up against one of the mightiest militaries in the world (with unlimited weapons provided by the world’s biggest superpower) - as about as asymmetric as it gets. Their options were limited. And they were being slowly more and more stifled and marginalised over time, with more and more land stolen from their people. I can see they felt they needed to do something big, to smash the paradigm of the oppression and marginalisation. Peaceful protests and firing the odd rocket, most of which were shot down, weren’t achieving anything.
It could be that they miscalculated the sheer level of Isr*eli violence, destructiveness and barbarism to come, even though they knew the response would be huge and disproportionate (as it always is with Isr*el). But the horrific extent of the cruelty, malice, collective punishment and violence, which has been off the scale (some say greater than ever known in human history) - even by Isr*el's usual savage standards - may have been underestimated. But it's Isr*ael (and its western backers) that is entirely responsible for its response, and the fact that they're happy to break every international law there is, without any accountability. Their endless lawlessness and targeting of civilians makes them terr*rists.
It’s a conundrum to know what would work when faced with such military might, state of siege and the opposition’s complete dehumanisation and disregard for them as people, and the fact that it’s clear they’ve always wanted the Palestinian people to be erased from the land. See the film No Other Land (among a number of others) if there’s any doubt about that.

01:15:30 Her Honour, Joan Donoghue, conflated the two aspects of the case:
    1) Had South Africa exhausted all non-judicial means to diplomatically resolve the case before going to trial.
    2) Was the case against Israel plausible, prima facie, and the trial for genocide should proceed.
    In the actual case
she seemed to deliver a verdict supporting 2), but in the Hardtalk interview, she maintained that the "plausible" finding only applied to 1).
Not plausible, if you ask me, something got to her, maybe old age.

Further to my comments below even the expressions “global north and global south” need to be eradicated from the public mind. Call countries and people by their true name. Instead of engraving further the notions of “them” and “us” in the public mind. Even the judges of all courts including the ICJ and the ICC are not immune from the psychological influence of words and style of language used in these TH-cam and other discussions.

@@cliffardgerber3830 Some people hold that opinion regarding Ian Smith's Southern Rhodesia. The white colonists built schools; they were paying to educate young Black people as best they could, the vast majority of the Black population was tribal and living in grass huts. It also comes up by at least one author in the law journals that Smith was tricked into declaring UDI because the UK wanted to throw the colony to the communists. I had seen a video suggesting that white missionaries recruited Black people and sent them south to cause trouble for the Whites. History shows that the White Dutch Boers pioneered within a vast area not occupied by Blacks. Anyway, I'm wondering who invaded who and how the long-term "apartheid" scenario resulted.

@crazyforcanada holy hell. The Boers trekked from Cape Town which had an indigenous Khoi/San population towards the interior of the country where they fought with the Bantu tribes that they came across. They write about it in the very many journals and historical texts from that time.
Also there are the archeological finds of Mapungubwe and Great Zimbabwe which are settlements that have stone walls, and date back to between 900 AD and 1200AD. The Dutch settlers arrived in the Cape in the 1652.
