As a new campervan owner, that was very helpful - thank you. what I don't understand is - the flap/seal on top of the cassette, the one that slides open to put in the chemical, I think remains closed when you put the cassette in place. So how do the contents of the toilet, once used, get into the cassette?! probably a stupid question
Thanks Mark. We had an electric flush on our 2013 sprite. I did see the red light once, but never knew there were batteries to power the light. We now have a Bailey Phoenix +, does this caravan also have batteries to run the red ‘full’ light?
Hello Mark many thanks for the video great information. Just wanted to ask on a recent cleaning of our Thetford cassette I noticed a sponge type filter inside the cassette which appeared to connect to a point on the bottom of the cassette. Due to this being slightly out of line the cassette would not relocate back in position. Just wondered what this filter is used for? Thanks Neil and Ginnette
Hi, We have a Thetford Cassette C2/C4 in a Hobby Caravan, The auto toilet flush stopped working no power? I removed the cassette, checked the fuse and wires but can't find anything wrong, Can you suggest any ideas to try please
If the drain down pipe is blocked with black sediment and doesn’t drain out ,how do you recommend fixing that please,have just bought 2nd hand caravan and returned from first trip away to find,it won’t drain , they had used blue product in it too 🥺.ty in advance. I had to empty by flushing the tank into the cassette…
Sorry, I had answered another question on ur question lol. You should be able to push a small piece of cable through the tube and try to unblock it like that?
We have a Bailey phoenix with a ‘remote’ flush tank. We have no drain tube, and We were told by the dealer just to empty the tank by flushing into the cassette. Which we will do . 🙂
Hi, it's for the flush water, most caravans have a flush water tank, just put in with the water. If you don't have a flush tank it can be sprayed into the bowl when using the toilet.
@@thecaravanplace Thank you. I have a top bit exactly the same as your video. I put clean water through, flushed it out like you said and it came out the little hole. Is that where the pink stuff goes? I think the flush runs off the mains. Thanks for your reply
It's normally on the bottle, if it's into the cassette it will say how much to add, normally neat, the yellow cap you remove to empty the cassette is also a measure 👍
Very informative but when you empty the cassette and put it back in place, does the hole under the slide off bit on the cassette have to be open or closed? I’m assuming open?
Have you made sure the flap inside is fully closed, try opening and closing the the flap a few times from inside and make sure its fully closed, it should slide out then.
Hi Mark. Very interesting video to watch . Now the reason I'm contacting you is the caravan you was showing in the video I have the same toilet. Unfortunately the pump has stopped working do you have any ideas why this can happen and if I need to replace the pump where will I find it . Thanks in advance chris
Hi Chris, the top cover with the blue button will come off and then the pump is located inside of the tank from here. The pump may just be jammed, possibly the fuse, or it could be a new pump required.
@@thecaravanplace thank you for your advice and I managed to sort the pump out it was clogged up with lime scale. The only thing is I couldn't find the fuse it wasn't in the same place as shown in the video but all is working now thanks chris

It just moves back as it slides in and then back over the hole when it slides out 👍
and how do you know when it is full and how much pink do you put in for a full tank
Does the lid on top of the cassette open automatic when the cassette is pushed into the van
Yes as long as its in correct it will push the cover over as the cassette pushes in.

Should run off the main power, so no batteries 👍

Try wiggling the yellow tap, if no different then its 2 screws that hold the drain valve, you can lift it up and pull the pipe off, clean and refit.
Umm sorry to be dull but what yellow tap n screws plse.my caravan is in a storage yard ,not easy to nip n look ! Ty for reply tho

If you look inside the door from outside, you should have a sticker with model No on. If you google the model no it should tell you. 👍

What happens if someone does a 'number two'? Will the cassette be OK to empty or would it need to be disassembled?
It's good for both. The blue chemical will help break it down and will empty fine. 👍

If its a c200 flush tank through the little white door its about 7ltrs.
how much water will the tank hold
It a couple of litres, if you use a 1 ltr bottle to fill, then work from that, on the pink flush it will say how much to use per ltr.
in my bailey 644 its 8 litres
