I'm 68 now, but over 50 years ago I had all the CCR LP's, and me and my friends wore them out listening to get things as right as we could in our little band. Probably the most fun ever in my youth! We put an ad in the local paper and played a couple small wedding banquets and a pub, just to prove that we could. The money was only a tiny reward to our time, but the fun we had was worth far more than money. Not to mention, that our bassist was underage yet no one questioned it. It was 'the times'. Thank you CCR!

John Fogerty's magical guitar sounds came from a 1969 Rickenbacker 325 Sunburst guitar with the word “ACME” written on the head in yellow paint. The guitar was Fogerty's main instrument during the peak of his Creedence Clearwater Revival days and the one he played onstage at Woodstock, The Ed Sullivan Show and countless concerts all over the world.Feb 16, 2017
You are quite right, but that however was John fogerty's FIRST stock Rickenbacker 325. It was black just like the one John Lennon used in the movies "A Hard Day's Night," and "Help." He used that on most of their first album including "Susie Q." In late 1968 he literally gave it to a fan at the end of a concert. Then shortly after, he went to the Rickenbacker showroom, tried out several and got the fireglow 325 he became known for. As Fogerty fans and followers know, he moded the new one with a Bigsby and a Gibson humbucker. An yes, that is a very, very unique sound. I know because in my 43 years of playing guitar, I have owned and stage played 3 different 325 models. (That guitar of John's is pictured in his recent book "Fortunate Son" in the photo section. He's sitting on a couch wearing his glasses and the black Rickenbacker is on a coffee table).
@@KVL325 I read John's biography a few years ago. He said when his wife Julie hunted down his lost guitar, she gave it to him as a Christmas present and first thing he did was play a little bit of 'Green River' on it.
A great job of giving the lyric a bit of growl and soar without flying off the rails, as the creator Screamin' Jay Hawkins did. Glad he came up with a collaboration for this classic!!!
That guitar solo is great! I kept thinking he'd given everything he had and then he'd give more, just like Leslie West's solo in "Southbound Train" at Woodstock and Prince's solo in "While my Guitar Gently Weeps". Those three gave everything they had to us in those solos.

Raw as hell and what a sound. I always liked CCR as their songs sounded 'real', like they hadn't spent days rehearsing the hell out of their songs and polishing every detail and overdubbing. I was at a Credence concert back in the day and I was most impressed with Tom's rhythm playing.
Great concert!

It's old, some young man told me. I told him what Ry Cooder once said
There is no old or new, only good and bad music
CCR is legendary: Then, now and forever.
Duke Ellington:
" If sounds good, it IS good"
Those with ears will hear 🤗
This is the best mixed song in history. The reverb, feedback, bass. It just is.

It just is. Perfect way to describe your heart

The mix is nuthin fancy, It's the well recorded sound of 'Creedence'

Notable Creedence
Mám 68 rokov a vždy si ju rád vypočujem CCR 👍🇸🇰

This is one of the greatest songs produced by CCR, so haunting.
Haunting is the perfect word for it.

Right behind you here at 71. CCR What a great band! Those were some days.
awesome !
You can have 1000 versions of this song, but none will ever touch this. Its just impossible to do it better.
PS I always listen this for at least 3 times in a row, and still not enough.
Meraviglia!!!
Grannymadreisnojoke
If you listen carefully, the song goes deeper and deeper expressing the emotion. The middle part is revving up for the last part, in which CCR fully drives that emotion home. Brilliant.
God bless you CCR forever 🎶🎵🎼🎸🎸🎸🎧😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️
Musica per l'eternità, una leggenda.

The opening track to their opening album and it pretty much describes all of the boys’s role in the band
From John’s powerful vocals and harmonious’s solo, Stu and Cosmo’s punchy, in your face Bass and Drums to Tom’s precise and hypnotic’s rhythm carrying the all thing all the way through,
One of a kind band

Raw as hell and what a sound. I always liked CCR as their songs sounded 'real', like they hadn't spent days rehearsing the hell out of their songs and polishing every detail and overdubbing. It was almost as if they had walked into the studio and agreed on the chords and the tempo and just set the recorder going, job done.
Great song! This kind of music will never fade!
I Never heard one person say they didn't like this band no matter what their music preference ....

This voice puts a spell on my brain!!! It is past midnight, listening different renditions of this superb song, and this is so beautifully raw...
Raw powerful voice digs into you. Then the guitar solo digs in deep. Makes my day. No sadness here. Just a spell.
I listened to an old version around 2AM last year. This is the best version but there's a bluesy edition that works. Many blessings of a nurturing nature.
Same here. Don't know why.😊
