Just starde mine this weekend. I'm loving it already. The virtual way to do the journal never felt real to me. You said something true that if i'm writing it, i'm comited. Thanks for the video, great help!
Sometimes we get caught up aesthetics that we forget the true purpose of the bullet journal, and that is functionality. Thank you for the reminder to customize our journal and tailor it however we want to fit our needs.

Hi Brent! Watching this video straight from the future, lol. Man, I loved your minimalist version of Bujo. I also follow Matt and your Bujo are the best inspirations for me. This tool is very powerful and has made a huge difference in my life. It's great to fill in the sheets daily, to have the feeling of life moving forward. It helps me relax, be less anxious and have fun too, with the freedom to create any collection. Thanks for the excellent tips. I will definitely adapt it to my Bujo. Hug.
I like the simplicity, I have looked at some and they are so fancy it’s put me off. I’ll have a go at this way it looks uncluttered, and practical thank you!
I had tried to use a bullet journal years ago, but it always has an inconsistent layout, or I forgot and ended up losing my habit. but now looking at the way you use it I found it very practical. Good video!!!
I can't get over how Neat everyone writes! I wrote like that maybe at school but not now! I have large handwriting and as I'm creative in my work, I'm naturally like that in my journal. I also try to keep space for the odd doodle.
I've just started with journaling and am still figuring out what works for me. One spread I'm settled on is spending/bank account tracker. I'm not very good with money, so physically tracking my spending is helping.
Thanks, I have journaled and planned in many different styles. I find the kind of journaling/planning need to match what you use it for. Full on planners and agendas when I had demanding managerial jobs. Etc. But Bujo is truly the most flexible, I find. Just getting back into it from a long gap.
Hello Brent. Thank you for your great video. I have started several time a Bullet journal but always left it as it was a slavery to have all lined up, coloured and eyes pleasing, You just again showed on this video, that sometimes less is more and I pretty much like it. I have already started very minimalistic bullet journal and so far it works. I will implement some of your ideas as well. Great work.
Hello, Thank you for explaining how you work your bullet journal. I'm a teacher and I want my students to start with bullet journals. I wasn't sure if my middle and high school boys would want to do one. I'm sure that a lot of my girls would, they love drawing and coloring on all the work they hand in. I just wanted to know what to expect or what to advice the boys. I think you have a great set up.
That is so awesome to hear! I actually have an updated video on my bullet journal that's an even simpler layout - only using one spread instead of two: th-cam.com/video/2wf3TjY_zuQ/w-d-xo.html
Great idea to use the monthly as the actual journal. Really cool! One Q about the weekly breakdown: how much of it do you do at the beginning of the month as opposed to 'on the go'? Thanks!
Hey! After the first year, I found that I rarely used the weekly breakdown. Since then I've actually modified it to just a single spread for each month. The left page for daily journal and scheduled events. Then the right page for habit tracking, work goals, personal goals, and braindump notes. Now I don't have to flip pages for one month and it takes up fewer pages for the year!
I've been struggling to set up a simple and effective system, but I'm glad that you have shared yours which is simply just straight to the point ans simple. I think previously I've made no much use of the journal myself, but a few days ago when I sat down to work out my finances for this year it really helped me to focus with things. So today I will surely get back to it and make a start again on this month... it really helps focusing on stuff that needs to be done. :) Thank you for the video and I hope all is well. ;) _\\//
So awesome to hear! Hope this next time around works out for you. Having a super simple layout and only tracking what's important has been the only way I've been able to stick with it. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment, Gary! :)
@@BrentGalloway Exactly, I tried many different layout, watched tons of videos, but I'm not kiddin' your was the simplest and more reasonable. :) Thank you for being out there and making these videos Brent. :) Wishing all the best from Scotland. _\\//
Thank you for this minimalist approach...it's perfect. I'm curious tho, I didn't see a future monthly page; do you not include that? Also, I don't see daily pages. How do you keep track of other types of tasks you must attend to? I'm actually going to use your set up ideas to create a Health/weightloss journal. Thanks so much again.
Hi! Thanks so much! I only track one month at a time. At the end of each month, I create the next month's layout and set the goals and attention for it. Then for daily tasks, I pull my weekly goals and break them up even further on a post-it note as an actionable task. I also have a video all about that as well! th-cam.com/video/IcQehxFr69c/w-d-xo.html
The ruler was part of an exclusive ten-year anniversary set from Ugmonk, so unfortunately I don't think it's available for purchase anymore. But here's the link to the collection for reference: ugmonk.com/blogs/journal/10-years-of-ugmonk
Anyone else here because they tried to watch the first bullet journal video that popped up on TH-cam’s algorithm and some air headed teenybopper is waving their purple finger tips in the camera saying “HELLO MY LOVELIES” -response, “good grief, imma find a dude to bullet journal.”
Do you use a journal or are you thinking about setting one up? Would love to hear your tips and different things you keep track of!
Fellow lefty!!! 😊 👍🏼
I need to see more of this. Please make more videos about bullet journaling, I'm so obsessed with this 😅
Just starde mine this weekend. I'm loving it already. The virtual way to do the journal never felt real to me.
You said something true that if i'm writing it, i'm comited.
Thanks for the video, great help!
Man... This is the best and most clear look I was looking for a long time. You rock, man!
I like how practical you've made it. Sometimes one feels a little overwhelmed with some very artistical journals
This is very efficient way to use the Journaling tool. Thanks for sharing.
Nice to see I'm not the only one who uses an "R" for Thursday!
wow. I really like how simple this is. and I think I will use your technique.
Awesome! I think I'm getting it from you description.
Nice set up! I’ve definitely got more minimal over time. Else it just becomes one more thing you have to do.

A great, starting point for a beginner like me. Thank you dude.
Thank you for the video. I'm a new subscriber. I love Bullet Journaling but I'm often paralyzed by perfection. Your minimal journal ideas will help.
Woow, i actually had almost the same setup with like minor changes definitely gonna steal the mood thing
Thanks for this video Brent. I'm starting my first BuJo this year and this has been the best video thus far.
Awesome video ✨👍 love journaling, done it since 2016 😊
😍 love this setup! i'm gonna pick up a new journal today and start May off right!

Thanks so much, i'm girl but all the girls bullet journals are flowers, hearts and pink and your actually makes sense.
UPDATE: i'm probably trans😂

Lol. So funny
Had to give up and turn off the sound and go to captioning. The music blocking speech is just too much of a migraine trigger.
