As far as the development of the self-esteem movements, I would say the Kinsey report, Dr. Spock and roughly 5 to 8 years later when Mister Rogers was able to secure funding for his program on PBS from the federal government, the acceleration and exaggeration of self-esteem movements began in earnest. This is not to say that Mister Rogers created a false narrative but rather to highlight this provided opportunity for others to chase after the opportunities presented in child mental health care.
I ❤ the Aceman, however his take on the curb-stomping bully jacking the mountain bike having "high self-esteem" I'll have to disagree with. People that do that kinda stuff generally are super insecure and lack true self-esteem, therefore they do that to fill that void/validate their underlying weakness(es). Just my 2 cents. ❤ the Aceman
