If I was going to make clay balls (in a regular manner), I would first laser-cut some circle holes on mdf, in different sizes, to have them at hand. Those circle holes would be used to check the roundness of my model, during the modelinng phase and mostly during the sanding phase. I know, it would be sort of a "cheating" method (the purists would even call me a heretic! lol), but the results would be near perfection...
Yes that one I just repeated going o er it for hours. There is no spray or anything. However, from a distance it looked really good. Up close there were still small spots ( indentations ) that I couldn't get the same consistency of gloss.
I dont make it hollow at all. But, I dont bake it either. If u bake it then yes I believe it would have to be hollow. What you can try is to build it over a balloon with a small opening. Then when the clay is dry. Pop the balloon and pull it out. Then cover up the hole.
@@RazorianBuck Thanks for responding love the video! I made a dorodango recently and it turned out really good and shiny, but over time when it dried out it got more dull in shiny ness. Should I put wax over it on my next one and is your dorodango from the video still shiny? Have a good one ✌️
They say to put wax on it but I didnt want to continue doing that over and over. So I cheated and I started spraying them with clean lacker. It's not what you are suppose to do but I ehats something that would feel done . And bot something that I would have to come back and continue to maintain.
Also an informative tutorial. I have watched many dorodango turorials and you have introduced me to some good techniques.
“Ghosts in my attic” is very catchy! Good Form!

It’s called “Restless Leg Syndrome “ , and can be helped by putting a scented soap under your legs while you are sleeping.

How's the minivan coming along?
It just sits in the driveway. The insurance place told me I have to pay for an entire year up front and could end up costing me $2300. 😞
I like to dip it a second time to...lol
What type of clay did you use?
i made the clay from dirt in my backyard. I have a video on that as well
