      Thank you very much! 😀 I try my best to make singing approachable to everyone and once you understand how it works, you may realise that everything is possible.

    I am a low bass (F1 is still in mode 1 for me) and always had a decent range up to C5. Using your technique, I strengthened my chest voice down low and can remain chest connected up to B4 now and get up to a C6 in head voice on a great day. Not to mention, using your technique in conjunction with the subharmonic technique, I am able to hit all the way down to a G0 and even as low as E0. My on-mic day-to-day range is now A0-B5. I am already a trained singer, but, yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks.

    Hey bro. This was a very interesting video. I've been singing for about 6 years. I've had bad teachers and good ones. I've plateaued at the A4 and at that point my sound gets too thin and have tension creep. I have been challenging myself to sing up to a C5 with a full chest mix instead of having to rely on a pure head voice. It seems that there are not many teachers who really know how to help me with this. Range isn't my issue, I'm having issues with the power on the higher notes or the "Bruno Mars"/"Lady Gaga" notes where they actually sound good and I can form words while maintaining that pitch. As a male vocalist, I am trying to achieve this next level of singing to really elevate my performances and sing the songs we all want to sing in their original key. It's my understanding that perhaps the missing puzzle piece to achieve a C5 in a strong chest/mix is learning how to use the larynx which nobody has ever taught me. If I get choked around the G#4/A4, are these techniques you are talking about going to fix this? How long will it take to be able to sing these higher notes more freely without tension and a good vibrato?

      Hi there, that's great that you already found a way to reach this notes without tension. Generally, if you lower and open up your thyroid cartilage the sound will get thicker and warmer. In this video I explain how to open up your thyroid cartilage maybe this could help you:
      th-cam.com/video/1IKm9R7hjZ4/w-d-xo.html
      I don't know though what exactly your voice needs to make this happen. It is impossible to say for me without hearing it.
      In this video I just explained how to gain range in your head voice which will also increase the range of your chest voice. But it has nothing to do with making the sound thicker. Cheers!

    Do you think I should stop smoking weed before I attempt to increase my range?

    • @timoparker
      @timoparker  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Short answer: yes! Everything we inhale comes in direct contact with our vocal cords. Any type of smoke dehydrates our vocal cords, which weakens them.

    Timo hello! How we can check out if we are using Cricothyroid Muscles? If there any changing in the Larynx? for example Thyroid Cartilage tilted ?

    • @timoparker
      @timoparker  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there! There are two things that you can check.
      1. Is your voice "flipping/ breaking"? If yes you most likely went into Falsetto and you are not using the CT muscle.
      2. Is you larynx in a very high position in your throat? If yes chances are very high that you also went into Falsetto.
      The fuller and darker the sound is the higher the chances are that you are actually using the CT instead of the Falsetto mechanism.
      Hope this helps!

    If I’m an alto can I still learn to become a 4 octave?

    • @timoparker
      @timoparker  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes! Your sound will have the tendency to be a little darker. Since altos have a access to a lot of low notes they have actually the potential to create a very broad vocal range 😀

    Whenever I try to produce a sound after yawning (even for a low note), I see my larynx goes up a little bit. Is this a problem and how can I fix it? I feel like I am already relaxed and I don't know how I can make a sound without the larynx going up..

    • @timoparker
      @timoparker  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is totally normal that your larynx rises when you just start with the training. Eventually you should be able to hold your larynx in the same position and at some point even lower it towards the higher notes.
      That simply means that your yawning muscle needs a bit more strength, so keep yawning and start with trying to keep the larynx in the same position without rising. Hoe this helps :)

  • @fenderfox5080
    @fenderfox5080 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    So when i yawn my ears do that buzzing or whatever they do lol, if I'm training this yawning muscle do i want it in the yawn position where it's just low or do i want to lower it into a full yawn to where my ears do the buzzing thing?

    • @timoparker
      @timoparker  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The main focus should be to be able to yawn in a relaxed way to make sure that you are using the yawning muscle only. I'm talking about this topic in this video: th-cam.com/video/FcEsfXhCnKU/w-d-xo.html
      The buzzing could be an indication that you are putting too much tension into the yawn. I had some students in the past that faced the same issue and it went away when they were doing less and relaxed more. 😀
