    Thank you, Tackle Advisors! Not just for this video, but all of them. I know it must take forever to film every single one. I’ve used and had great appreciation for high quality tackle for years now, but I’ve never been one to get into the inside of a reel. You’ve helped give me more of an appreciation for gear I do use.

    Thank You for the Great review. I have been using cheap spinning reels for some time. Last year, I started getting some better rods. I have been looking at Penn reels and never seen such an honest review as yours. I have only used spinning reels and am now looking at maybe going to bait caster. But I am 61, so I am trying to teach this old dog new tricks. @@TackleAdvisors my father in law had Penn Battle, Penn Fierce, Penn Clash and he always talked the old ones made in the US, the 30 or 40 years old Penn were the blast, not the new ones. But this for $200 box it's a very completed reel. Here in my country Costa Rica you have to pay double for Fishing Tackle, so it's very good that some stores have international shipping service, and that's the only way to get one of this reels on a good price. Great reel! Been fishing the 2500 Spinfisher VI for a few weeks now inshore and offshore and it’s handled plenty of snook, and jacks with ease aswell as light tackle Bonita offshore. Extremely happy with it!

    • @tristanterorotua4232
      @tristanterorotua4232 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also if you don’t like the handle the spinfisher VI comes with, the slammer 3 ball handles are a direct match for the 3500 size and up. I saw somebody that had them on all his spinfisher VI’s and said they screwed in perfectly. If you wanted to go that route.

      Hey samak....Thanks brotha!!!!! That daiwa has been proving itself a winner over the past few nights....I built a 13' stick dual purpose and tested the spacing with a tranx 500 and the ballistic lt....yup....I dig it on a 13 footer....I have been using it on a 11' tournament ballistic (can throw an unloaded redfin up to 5 ounces and a bunker head and weighs less than the 10'6 3.4 - 4oz legend. and don't think I'll be taking it off or even fishing my other rods until the new SH!#$@$ rods come out. Which are going to disrupt the surf rod market. Might be selling off half a dozen tiralejos. (And to think....I just bought them on a whim since they were cheap and I needed a long range rod that is easier to load) Never thought they'd be daily driver material....

    Excellent video. I don't launch from the beach, mostly inshore in Texas, and have had serious reel issues. I really didn't know much about reels at first, but I learned quickly as mine kept dying. One - bait casters in a saltwater bay on a yak is just asking for trouble, period. Fishing mostly paddle tails on 1/8th oz. jig heads for slot reds, there's nothing you can't do with a 2500 sized spinning reel. This is where I start to get worried about a reel like the Spinfisher VI. It weighs 72.5% more than the most comfortable reel I fish, a Tatula LT, and yes, I bought it before I found your videos (which I just can't stop watching). So, how did I go from breaking reels to using a basically freshwater spinner? I just learned how to take better care of my reels. I run a forward mounted rod holder so that I never have to put my rods on the floor of the yak where they would often get some non-incidental saltwater baths. I keep my spare rods behind me in rod holders on my milk crate rather than on my side mounted rod holders where they can get splashed. I have probably 15 to 20 trips and a few hundred pounds of redfish on the Tatula, and it shows no signs of being worse for the effort. So, for how Elias is fishing, the spin fisher seems like a good bet, but for constantly jigging and paddling, a light freshwater spinner that is well managed for inshore stuff where you aren't trolling for king mackerel or running live/dead bait for bull reds, will keep you fresh quite a bit longer. On the yak, and when seated, your arm position is quite a bit less ideal than from the river bank or on a boat. It's more like surf fishing waist deep. Your hands are right below chest height, and a light setup is very valuable. So, ya, there are varieties of kayak fishing, and I can totally see that this Spinfisher would be great for wet situations where you weren't doing a ton of jigging, but the way I fish, I want to stay light. Anyway, great channel, I've been watching while I have rebuilt roughly 30 reels while recovering from a back injury. Keep it up, I may do some of these myself. Taking my very early Calais 200 from stuck and corroded to working with Bantam1 to get some very rare parts and having it run so that it is noticeably more smooth than my new Curado DC is my best effort so far.

      @TackleAdvisors 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You bring up great points. And it's something I considered when sending him reels. He's been fishing a fuego lt and it died (i have it in a box unopened as of yet...and it lasted I belive 5 months which is pretty good...I sent him a smaller exceler to see if we could push the limits and it died in a week lmao. But it did catch some sweet fish.
      It's good to see the non sealed version of the ballistic is still going strong..one of the things I did to the exceler as part of an experiment was grease the snot out of all the entry points to see if it lasted longer than the fuego with mag seal......Too bad it couldn't hold up to the fish....I'm ccurious as to how it died. They have a bit more flex in the stem than the tatula and ballistic. But the frames seem to keep everything where it needs to be.
      Please do! TH-cam needs more people who know the gear inside and out talking about it. Good luck with the back.

    Currently using the Daiwa Exceler 4000H. Smoothest reel I have ever owned.

      Keep an eye on the anti-reverse bearing in saltwater. I have one. Love it. Was the smoothest reel I ever fished with, until I took it on my kayak in the sea. That anti-reverse bearing died very quickly. To replace it costs nearly half of what the reel cost me. I take care of my gear. I rinse everything off with freshwater after use, service my reels regularly, especially the ones I use on my kayak, but I was blown away at how fast that anti-reverse bearing got killed
