Hello, thanks for reviewing this. Do you think you can use this to connect two laptops to one docking station? The docking stations has all the peripherals attached, 2 monitors, keyboard and mouse, headset with microphones. I would use this so I can switch between my home laptop and work laptop. Docking station and laptops use USB-C.

Hi, I know a few people have been able to get that to work but not without issues, external hard drives and drivers being two. The manufacturers, the same unit is sold under different brands, state that it doesn't support connectivity to hubs, docks, etc. It didn't work with either my Win 10 PC or Laptop and I've not tried it with my new Win 11 kit. What you're really after is a very basic Thunderbolt/USB4 2-to-1 adapter and I've not come across one. Plugable do a 3-to-1 but, as I'm sure you'll know, the price jumps considerably. Only recently moved house and my office is not up and running yet but when it is I'll see if it does work with my Win 11 stuff.

@@lastboyscoutuk Thanks for your response. I did read the manufacturers comments. I will keep plugging my usb c between my laptops. In the end the switch would be a nice to have, not really a must to have. Thanks again.

FYI, got one from a different brand from Aliexpress and tried to pair it to a Caldigit Element Hub. It did not work when trying to use the hub/dock as the main source for the switch, while connecting one end to a Macbook Pro M1 end the other to a Windows desktop PC (DisplayLink port of my RTX 2080 TI). I mean, it kinda work, the issue was the macbook. Zero ouput from the Caldigit hub. Althought it seemed to work pretty well (on a limited quick test) on the end with the Windows PC. Even got 1440p 165hz out of it.
My guess is maybe there is some incompatibility in the Mac Caldigit Hub Switch pairings, not sure how to pinpoint.
I've tried with different Thunderbolt 4 and USB-C 4/40gbps cables, btw.

Hi, yes, you can use two laptops, two desktops or laptop+desktop to output to a single screen. Best regards.

    impress me please
I’m looking for a USB-C switcher that allows me to connect my USB-C EarPods to both my Mac Mini (for WhatsApp/Zoom calls) and my Pixel 7 Pro (for cellular calls). Here are the specifics of my setup:
**Mac Mini:** Running macOS Ventura, primarily used for WhatsApp and Zoom calls.
Pixel 7 Pro: Running Android 13, used for regular cellular phone calls.
**USB-C EarPods:** Standard USB-C EarPods with built-in microphone.
**Requirements:** The switcher should support seamless switching between devices without needing to unplug and replug the EarPods. It should also maintain audio quality and microphone functionality across both devices.
Does anyone know of a USB-C switcher that can handle this setup?

Because you haven't tested with any device to see if it works?

Hi, thanks for feedback. No, the video does not show the testing. Point taken. It was tested on a modern Asus Laptop, 2 X 32" WQHD monitors (hopefully adding a 4k monitor soon) and with a Crucial MX500 NVMe drive in a external enclosure. Plus a 120W GaN fast-charger and USB power meter. I'm not paid, sponsored or any suchlike for what I do and have to work with the kit I have. I do appreciate your feedback as it helps me improve what I do.

@@lastboyscoutuk Glad to know that you have done some testing off video, may I know whether it can output PD power to all 3 devices connected to the switch or will it be just on the 2 devices that being connected at the time.

It will support PD charging up to 100W through the USB-C ports.

@@lastboyscoutuk Thanks for the reply, we do all know that the device can support charging in PD mode up to 100W. However if I do understand what you have said correctly, that all 3 ports will be charging up to 100W each and not just the 2 ports that are being used at any time?

I have a suspicion you know the answer, but the maximum this switch supports is 100W and this is shared across the two, not three, ports : USB-C1 & USB-C2. The 3rd port on the switch is purely for the power in. You may get 55W to a laptop and 15W to a mobile phone when simultaneously connected. It's very much device dependent, but you're never going to get more than 100W in total. We also know that the power cable needs to be connected to a 100W power supply in order to achieve this. I'm pleased you're showing such an interest in this switch, but I tested it some 2 1/\2yrs ago and it may not now be available and/or superceded by a newer one.
