I’m 72 and grew up playing ball in the 60’s. I watched Clark’s games because it was movement and flow basketball. She has phenomenal court awareness that gets her entire team involved. She is the maestro that orchestrates the symphony of her team. Her Seth Curry like shots brings an excitement to every game and spreads the floor allowing for the movement of the ball. I am not watching because the referees are either corrupt and on the take or just completely incompetent. The rules of the game are taught and enforced at every level but not in the WNBA. Some of the thuggish behavior directed at her she of resulted in heavy fines and termination. The Commissioner’s office is incompetent. Adam Silver needs to clean that mess out of existence. So if you want me to watch call it like a real basketball game not a thug fest enabled by incompetent referees.

The WNBA is unwatchable. There are individual players who are both athletic and skilled. Most however are stiff, awkward and in some cases clumsy. It’s a league of bricks, airballs, awkward shooting motions, fumbled passes, stiff legged drives, missed layups, clumsy fouls, shot clock violations etc. etc. I took a former college player friend to the Fever Mystics game. He said it was the worst basketball game he’d ever seen. The so-called exciting finish to the Liberty Lynx game was due to a cascade of brick shots and ugly turnovers. It appropriately ended on the shot the WNBA has made famous, a blown layup. The NBA is back. There is no reason to watch this crap.

As a starter in all 40 of Indiana’s regular-season games, Clark averaged 19.2 points, a WNBA-high 8.4 assists, 5.7 rebounds, 1.33 steals and 35.4 minutes, leading rookies in all five of those per-game categories except rebounding (third). In addition to posting the fifth-highest single-season assists average in WNBA history, Clark ranked seventh in the league in points, 18th in rebounds, 15th in steals and second in minutes per game. She also had the second-highest free throw percentage in the WNBA (90.6%).
Clark set a WNBA single-season record with 337 assists. She also established WNBA single-season rookie records of 769 points and 122 three-pointers made. Clark led the league in three-pointers made and finished six behind the WNBA single-season record of 128 set by New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu last season.
A starter for Team WNBA in the 2024 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game, Clark was named the Kia WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month for August, the WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week three consecutive times (Weeks 9, 10 and 11) and the Kia WNBA Rookie of the Month four times (May, July, August and September).
Behind Clark and fellow 2024 WNBA All-Stars Boston and Kelsey Mitchell, the Fever (20-20) earned a playoff spot for the first time since 2016 and improved its win total by seven games over last season (13-27).
Below are additional highlights of Clark’s 2024 regular season:
Recorded the first two triple-doubles by a rookie in WNBA history - 19 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists against New York on July 6; and 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists against the Los Angeles Sparks on Sept. 4.
Set a WNBA single-game record with 19 assists against the Dallas Wings on July 17.
Became the first WNBA rookie to have at least 30 points and 10 assists in a game (31 points and 12 assists against Chicago on Aug. 30).
Posted 14 games with at least 20 points, five rebounds and five assists and eight games with at least 20 points and 10 assists - both WNBA single-season highs.
Averaged 24.7 points and 9.3 assists in her first 10 games after the Paris Olympics break - an 8-2 stretch for Indiana that featured its first five-game winning streak since 2015.

JTL - Do the math. $180,000 ÷ $425 = 423 games. That doesn't corelate. The season is 4 months and 40 games per team. The league doesn't play 7 days a week. But according to your numbers they are reffing 4 games a day 7 days a week which is impossible.
    Bad info JTL.

CC has everyone getting paper if they all come together and act accordingly. I saw that the WNBA will have a 7 game series, the other teams can see their team play at home in a Championship games. The WNBA will get the Referees paid, the arenas the games are played in will make money. Wow there is money money money everywhere if the jocks stop being so freaking jealous of Caitlin Clark. The Refs could also benefit and get paid come in the WNBA.You need to get better Refs in the WNBA WHO make calls correctly. Everyone could benefit from the WNBA if you stop trying to harm your Golden Humble Goose. “I SAID WHAT I SAID “

If the WNBA refs are making $425 per game, and there are 44 games in the regular season, that works out to $18,700 per season, plus whatever playoff games they work.
They need to be paid a hell of a lot more. It needs to be a job that everybody wants. Only then can they enforce serious standards. I don't think they should get the $7,000 per game the NBA refs get, but pay them 2 or 3 grand per game, the base salary goes up to $88,000 to $132,000 per year. If you pay someone those kinds of wages for only half a year's work, you can expect them to be professionals. If they can't do their jobs well, there are thousands of people who would gladly take their place.

Minimum $425 per game up to $180,000 per year for "experienced" officials. Considering that many of the games I watched fell within the point spread it's possible that the referees were supplementing their pay in much more profitable ways.

Hey Jon research I did this a little while ago. They don’t always have a game so sometimes they have to skip a game. They might only have three games a week at $425 a game so they don’t work a full week. That means they have to have another job. I would say it all goes back to Cathy Engelbert it’s time now since Caitlin has come into the league it’s time for a bit of an adjustment. It needs to be totally restructured. In fact, the whole WNBA league system needs changed out. I realize the players will not reach the plateau of pay scale that they really want even though they’re negotiating it they’re $50 million in the hole. They need to take and pay back the NBA get that paid off and it won’t take long with these sellout crowds that Caitlin in need to take and have a better marketing team for the WNBA this thing is all out of whack and it’s been left. Go for 20 years. It’s time now to re-organize the whole WNBA from the refs on Down the NBA refs I believe I’m not sure but I believe they get 250,000- 500,000 a year big first year starters for the NBA get $600 a year senior men gets $7000 a game, a huge difference that’s per game difference. I think it’s time not saying that the WNBA can afford to pay their guys that but they could afford to pay them at least $1000 a game. They’re taking enough in sales and if they get the right marketing people and people that takes does the advertising and everything and get promote these teams, they shouldn’t have a problem it just took Caitlin to jumpstart the attendance for the games and the revenue would start coming back. You are spot on they just need to re-structure it. They need to restructure the whole WNBA marketing and all it would then bring the revenue up now that Caitlin in.
