This is great, This Mountain (Acoustic) was the first I heard from her and is fantastic, what a voice and underrated artist, thanks for reacting to her.
She also writes all of her songs! All of her stripped versions are just breath taking. I was so happy when I found out about this gem a few months ago. Honestly, the way she transports emotions is out of this world. Such a rich tone. Almost all of her recorded songs have "Stripped" versions where it's just focused on her vocals - but she sounds just as good or even better live. This concert and the more-recent Arab Heritage concert were her best performances so far (she just keeps getting better). I highly recommend reviewing more from those concerts or if you want to review some recorded material the "Stripped" versions of: "How It All Works Out", "Bad Dreams", "You Don't Even Know Me", "Born Without a Heart" or even her recent song with John Legend called "Minefields" (Live on the Today show version is the best one for me). She has a Moroccan heritage, moved to Canada when she was around 1. Was gifted a really fast virbrato that makes it *_sound_* like she's using autotune but she never does. She has 11+ years of piano, guitar, violin, djembe(a drum), and many other percussion instruments! Due to this she can distinguish pitch really well. She NEVER had singing lessons. She does it her own way, all relaxed and keeps herself relaxed in her vocal cords when singing. She has a naturally large range making her a mezzo-soprano. She can switch between headvoice and chestvoice in a second, she has amazing control of her voice. She also has an engineer degree which a tiny few people pointed out she uses the physics in that to help her sing too. Hope this helps! Daneliya Tuleshova did a great cover of this song. She is Kazakhstan's other amazing singer, definitely worth hearing. You should check out the One Voice Children's Choir, their cover of "One More Light" is the most emotional cover I have heard, maybe more emotional than the original, and it is nowhere near their most viewed video, which is "Diamonds" at almost 200 million last time I noticed.
Another great song writer from Canada is Gordon Lightfoot. I would also like to recommend Stan Rodgers song Northwest Passage and the Unleash the Archers cover. Both versions are amazing.
If you haven't, Melodrama by Lorde is a great one to analyze and react to for lyrics. That thing is my gold standard for prose. A lot of hip hop and RnB reactors also like Lorde for that and her interesting production elements.
