coronation street did such a great thing to bring pancreatic cancer into the public domain. my mum died from pancreatic cancer in 2017, she was diagnosed and gone within 5 weeks. nothing can ever prepare a person for that, patient or family. the biggest lack with this cancer is lack of awareness, people need to know the symptoms so earlier diagnosis can be made and potentially more lives saved and better quality of life. Julie h played this beautifully, I'd love to give her a hug and say thank you. if your loved one is dying and they want to have painful uncomfortable conversations that you're not ready to have, please be brave, put your fears and grief to one side and let them say what they need to. I was on occasion the same as Roy and I regret that now.
My mum would like to thank you for editing and posting this. We are in Australia and the funeral scenes were on Friday night (28 Feb) and she missed it due to a dinner we had to attend and she's been wanting to see it all weekend. I found your post and showed her. She cried her eyes out but she is so happy to have seen it. So thanks again.
My mum’s been going through the same cancer recently, fortunately the chemotherapy has been working and the cancer has shrunk and she’s going to need two operations in the few months fingers crossed she gets through this she’s 74
I don’t think you’ll find a more beautifully performed and written storyline in soap history. I still grieve for Hayley & I still feel terribly for Roy. Absolute art.
just been watching this, 10yrs later and choking Still up. 😢 i liked Hayley .cant believe this was over 10yrs ago , remember watching this at the time. Aww Poor Roy 😔 RIP Hayley 🤍🕯️🤍
I Remember watching this at the time ..it was so emotional then and watching it now brings a tear to my eyes the Acting was so good i don't know how they did it..
Perhaps the strongest episodes in Coronation street history. The acting here was top notch and as other posters have said it did bring pancreatic cancer to the forefront.
This is one of my favourite episodes. Also was emotional. The acting of Roy and Hayley is amazing. I will miss Hayley. Roy and Hayley were the sensible, mature type.
Probably the best written story in coronation street, no seedy back story, just the real grief of cancer, no screaming, no shouting, no random affair, or blackmail within the story. And well acted
Hard to think that I had to go through the same with my Mum in 2020 from the same cause. When Hayleys fight was being shown at the time, I found it hard to watch and cried for them both, watching now, it was unbearably hard as I nursed Mum through her last 5 months and watched her take her last breath😢 To make it worse, my brother passed away just 4 months before Mum, aged just 56 from an aortic dissection. 2020 was incredibly hard, and watching how Julie and David acted this out is a tribute to how gifted as actors they both are. As I type this, the tears flow, for the emotion of how well this was done, how sensitively it was portrayed. Finally, to my Mum and Brother, miss you both forever 💔
I’m so sorry for ur loss but they are always gonna be with you no matter what happens and they will always watch you from the heavens above you making them proud ❤️🕊️

Aw gee, I knew I would cry if I watched this again in 2023. Such a brilliant character and so well acted by all.
Nearly 10 years later it’s still one of the saddest deaths In coronation street

She died by suicide.
I'm so sorry
Thanks for editing and posting this. Such an emotional storyline. Dave and Julie are in a league of their own. xx

I wish they had never killed Hayley off one of my favourite characters
Julie Hesmondhalgh who played Hayley for 15 years made the decision to quit the soap back in 2013.
They killed of so many good characters
I think it was better this way. Roy and Hayley were favourites and people would’ve been upset if they had split.
A bit cruel having the character die of testicular cancer.
@@sonofednawelthorpe8609It was pancreatic cancer.

Hayley was a gem so kind and gentle
I almost made it to the end, but the tears came.
I was currently going through the pancreatic cancer storyline in real life with my dad and that time hit home really hard
One of the best Corrie storyline Hayley and Roy were the best couple tbh they were unique and the actors of Hayley and Roy got along so well ❤❤

It’s bad suicide sin
What faking her death drinking some crappy fake lemonade so she can sneak off and live in a flat above a post office
@LeviJamesRE Says the person who follows a made-up story
Don’t usually like editing but his ok
Julie Hesmondhalgh....Actress, extraordinaire. What a sustained performance ❤

Brilliant tv…great actors
The most moving death in TV history
Im so sorry 😊
Vaughn Williams pastor suite. Extremely beautiful.
this breaks my heart for roy 😭
Did i see cilia at Haley’s funeral?
That was Beth Tinker. She bears a very striking resemblance to Cilla.
I miss you Hayley

Why. Should I be sympathetic
Haley is what a real mother is unlike cilla
My son said the same poem at my uncles funeral 😪

Hayley died 😢 😞 so sad cobble coronation street 😢 50 old woman love Blackpool
Haley: You having a party down there?
Roy: N-No…
Haley: Tell me the truth!
Roy: 😦
“I’d rather not…”
Hailey: Oh, you’d make a terrible spy…”
This shook Royston Croppers corduroy kecks right down to the 4 inch hems.
😊😊
This must of been quite controversial.
I am known 1
I think if I was dying Roy’s pedantic behaviour would be very wearing.
Rip harold
anna was very annoying always looking at roy and hayley
Hi Paula grimes i agree
I hated Anna Windaus
I wish she never been born
The reason I hate her is because she always wanted to kill Philen
I don’t understand why people love her so much
Am i right in thinking Roy kept it too himself that Hayley took her own life or did he eventually tell.I can't remember
Tracy tell ken and Deirdre
Hi daltenkeeping9488
Anna call Stan and Sylvia and Becky and Karen and Kylie Eva going to tell Stella and Leanne and Karl and nick
Shouldnt have added this into the soap
I remember the scenes and it was so moving
