At 1:00 - Not sure I understand the reason to coat the copper piping. He mentions “migration of material”. What does he mean and how would the coating help? What type of coating is it?
I don't think the coating could remove or reduce limescale, i believe what he meant is the coating will protect the copper a little better? Question is what material is the coating made of, is it toxic free? As long as the copper is thick enough, there shouldn't be much worries about pitting and regular flushing will remove very strong concentration. Copper has antimicrobial properties to keep the water clean, that's the advantage of it being exposed. Probably what's sufficient to coat is the brass., not necessary the copper IMO. It is true that keeping water soft is much better than thinking of how to remove it. It's also true that it's not good to descale from the tank, especially to the service boiler or the steam boiler in double boilers as it doesn't practically nothing except damage.
