    Call Brink UK for an epic bike setup and suspension tune. After Jono took us all on a tour of Trans Madeira for the epic week long enduro race. Loads of people have asked for more videos with Jono but also a better understanding of how to set up a mountain bike for better riding, faster times and a more beneficial downhill mtb experience. So Jono and I went to Brink bike shop, the UK home of suspension servicing, bike setup and bling upgrades, and also a stockist of Marin Bikes and Ohlins suspension. So we talk you through the best experience which definitely includes a Brink / Plush suspension setup, service and tune for your riding needs. Enjoy!
    Legends.

    Jono needs to be a permanent fixture...like if you agree
    EDIT...
    Now that you've read this matt and Ben. Why don't you create a second channel called jonesbros and just have you 2 collectively on it..give the people what they want.. you can thank me later with some hellfare merch or a ride at the compound.. much love 💘

    Physio here. The arm pump comment is half true. Build up of blood in the forearms is correct although I'd add to that cramping of forearm muscles. When you repetitively use muscles in their inner range position (shortened), they cramp up. Making the brake levers more flat will stretch out these muscles and decrease cramping. As Jonno said, don't go too far. There is a mid range where muscles work best (its ideal length:tension ratio). Good video. Not boring at all.

      Thanks for clarifying and backing up Jono’s statement, always good to have an expert’s input. Some years ago I broke my wrist snowboarding and never got it fixed (first run, didn’t want to ruin a day’s boarding so strapped it and carried on), now paying the consequences when I ride so any advice to reduce problems is a big help. Also if you do injure yourself, get it checked out, otherwise you end up with arthritis and other nasty things down the line, I know……. The snowboard incident wasn’t the first or last…..

    • @ryndym
      @ryndym 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Putting the levers more flat destroys my wrists. Gotta have the wrist completely straight when finger's on the lever and that's around 45 degree angle for the levers.

    Thanks Jono - Excellent appetitizer on MTB technology and ways to optimize what you got and what you can get to upgrade. In my 50's, i'm new to off road biking (have Trek Madone road bike last 10 years). I got started off-road biking on a 20-year old Rocky Mountain MTB with front and rear suspension and frankly i don't know what I'm doing but I make sure to crash every time out to validate that I went out hard. So much to learn and so little time...

    Didn't mention the model of bike but it's a Pivot Switchblade for anyone wondering (I have one too!).
    I could see that Jono rides a size L, would be good to hear more about how he decided which one was right based on his height, in-seam and any stem and headset adjustments to the frame's default reach and stack measurements since body position becomes really important at speed.
    I'm still making adjustments to mine 6 months after getting the bike and I'm 187cm with an 89cm in-seam on a size XL.
